Are these new frames or reuse from former international config ones?

Are they slowly trying to phase out 737 service on the major/trunk routes?

I was wondering about the Class J width since it's 2-3 on the 737 so a seat less while 2-3-2 on the 787 which is the same as the non-sardine 787 configs. Surprised that is 2cm wider in 787 Class J, better than A350 even.

2-3-2 is the same as long haul PY. 2-4(2 is the more comfortable economy setup, which I think JAL is the only carrier left to run on long haul Y. Not surprisingly they have 3-3-3 in domestic Y, as the new version of the domestic 777 went for 3-4-3.

Ahhh, thanks. I spaced that the center cluster is 4 not 3 on International Y. 10 abreast isn't great but not the end of the world on the generally short stage lengths for domestic flights. As a back of the bus flyer, I keep my fingers crossed for long haul though.

Wait, aren't they also rolling out a bunch of Air Buses for flights between Fukuoka and Haneda? I saw multiple ads from JAL about it this month. Are the Air Buses a one off? I thought maybe they were switching.

They bought A350-900s for domestic operations. No change to those plans, first flight will be in September. I guess they needed capacity increase quicker than they could add the A350s.

If it mainly flew domestic all that time, I guess the cycle count is pretty high, but would not seem to be in dire need of replacement.

Does anybody know the seat pitch for economy in this configuration? It's not on SeatGuru.
