Pay to upgrade from J to F?
 
I couldn't find anything on this. Is there a way to pay to upgrade from J to F at the airport if there is space available?

sure, just need to calculate the fare difference plus penalty and fees. JL does not offer discounted upgrade to international First or business class even the cabin is empty.

No, you probably cannot. They may not have it catered properly

You can potentially for JMB miles. Though not all open seats equates upgrade available. Catering and other issues may affect

Do we get full F mileage (what’s the booking code) if upgrading at the airport? And is it only one class upgrade?

no and no.
miles at original ticket rate, you can upgrade to F from Y

About domestic upgrade at the airport, you can get mileage for the upgraded class.
For example, Sakitoku(75%) to F(125%), Sakitoku(75%) to class J(85%), Normal(100%) to F(150%), Normal(100%) to class J(110%).
Sakitoku class J(85%) to F(125%).

If you credit to other FFPs, different story.

For domestics,
I know for a fact JL and BA would credit as the upgraded fare class.
Y-J (1000yen)
Y-F (8000yen)
J-F (7000yen).

For INTERNATIONALS,
i cannot vouch for.
