How strict are JAL with weighing Carry on?

Flying a couple of legs domestically with JAL and I could be on the 7kg limit. Are they laid back about this sort of thing or do they force you to weigh in?

Not sure where you're getting the 7kg limit. JAL's website says 10kg combined for carryon & personal item.

I've only flown a handful of domestic flights but I've never had my carryon weighed, nor have I seen anyone challenged at the gate. Maybe if it looks obviously overweight?

That said, unless you have something valuable/fragile to hand carry, I'd just check it in for a domestic flight in Japan, something I usually don't do in the US or elsewhere.

um..weigh...never. but sizewise, you will be requested to check in luggage larger than carry on size.
