They could have named it Matcha.
Matcha Air.

Maybe it would be easier to digest.

And unserved West Coast routes, that would be PDX, LAS, PHX, or DEN (not strictly west coast but close enough)? Or would they tempt cannibalization with something like SFO-NRT? Maybe alternative airports in existing markets like SJC or SNA?

They need routes that they can go out and back in less than 24 hours, so they only need one frame per rotation. I did not study the distances, but DEN is out for sure, and I would guess LAS and PHX as well PDX is already served by Delta and DEN by United so not quite unserved markets.

24 hour turn over but there's also maintenance work that they need to perform on the planes. Can't just keep flying 24/7/365.

Unserved by JAL itself was in the article. Really, there's not a whole lot of Western US gateways that aren't served by anyone without getting deep into the weeds.

Completely hair brained speculation- ANC and FAI seasonally.

JAL used to run seasonal charters to FAI for a number of years.

Another point, does the service have to be daily or could be something like 3x weekly, alternating with another destination for the other 3x/4x?

And in the completely speculative department, will the LCC be a OW affiliate or offer any benefits for JAL elite?

I hope they didn't spend too much on that logo! I am looking forward to seeing how the livery turns out. That "Z" could be quite striking on the tail.

Business Profile: To operate the following routes from the 2020 Summer Schedule
- Tokyo (Narita) = Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport
- Tokyo (Narita) = Seoul-Incheon International Airport
16 minutes for the new website to go live. Interesting that the site is a dotcom instead of .co.jp

I guess the marketing people are aiming at the "internet generation" with all those underscores??? I don't think the award winning agency is up for an award here....

??????
I would guess once the launch it, they are aiming as much outside as inside Japan for passengers, and that's why it is a dotcom. Or the .co.jp was already taken?
