Booked on AA paper, flying JAL metal, need to confirm

Hi there, I'm exec plat on AA. flying LAX-NRT on 777-300. got seats on AA. Wanted to go onto JAL website to confirm booking and seats. Got my locator for JAL from AA call center, went to website and kept getting an error message that the reservation was not found. AA call center, says I do indeed have a reservation and seats. CC was charged, got an AA ticket number. This is going to be my first JAL flight so I"m trying to confirm and verify. Called the call center 800# but immediately got busy signal after busy signal. I'm the type of person that likes to have NO surprises at the airport so I confirm things in advance. Can anyone offer suggestions on; 1. How to confirm reservation and seats on an AA booked ticket on JAL website. 2. a functional telephone number to reach a human being who can provide me the info I seek?
3. a workaround to being able to input confirmation number, last name, and date of travel so that I can pull up my flight info.

thanks in advance

If you purchased a ticket from AA, flight number is AA flight number (code share), operated by JL, then you will able to see your reservation details on JL website (including seat assignment) but you will not able to change seat assignment form JL website.

If you got an error message from JL website, then try:
  1. JL flight number (i.e. JL 061) instead of AA 8407
  2. If the trip is part of multi-segment trip, such as you are flying DEN-LAX on AA then connecting to LAX-NRT on JL, then put flight number of the first segment (i.e. in this example DEN-LAX flight) when look up for a reservation on JL website.
Good luck.

I tried your suggestion and it did not work. I've put in the JAL locator, the AA locator. Fl 61, Fl 061, everything but the kitchen sink with no luck. it is a non-stop LAX-NRT. So frustrating.

Go to JAL USA site,
JAL locator, last name first name etc.
(confirm here how last name/first name have been recorded by JAL Amadeus system)
Input dates and flight numbers for the first JAL flight (not previous non-JAL fight legs)

I want to say that I truly appreciate you taking time to reply. In addition, I really appreciate your advice. I travel quite often, most often on AA. I have a fairly decent understanding of websites. Sadly, I tried everything you suggested. I read that thread and the wiki as well. I called AA and they confirmed my name being spelled right, so I just don't know what else to do.

I had the same problem and I finally put my name in with my first and middle name together with no spaces and the reservation came up with no problems.

I have also generally found, in this scenario, that the AA mobile app WILL show the JAL seat assignments. I have a ticket next month LAX-NRT-SGN, all JAL with AA flight numbers and AA ticket. Seats were assigned at booking by my agent. They do not show on AA.com, but they do show on the AA mobile app. I also confirmed I'm booked into those seats with JAL directly (but it was unnecessary, as it had already been sorted).
