Suntory Yamazaki on the LAX-NRT route - age?

My first JAL flight was last month on the 777 and 787, loved the Apex suites. But another lasting impression I had was the Suntory Yamazaki served on the LAX-NRT route. Some quick research yielded 12, 18, and 25 year labels.

Is it safe to assume the 12 year is what was served on the flight in J?

I think so but I can double check later if you want.

Anything but the 12 would be princely indeed, and the 12 is plenty nice by itself. I'm on NRT<>LAX in F next month and am quite pleased to hear this is on offer--I sure hope the friend who "adopted" the last third of my bottle of Yamazaki 18 when I moved to China appreciates it properly...

Normally, they have the Hakushu 12 years for duty free sales.

If you have a menu or an upcoming flight, it would be appreciated.

I wonder if F gets a different selection - report back! I seem to recall eastbound and westbound having different options, and the Sakura Lounge in Narita a third and fourth.

(P.S. Plain old Jameson here this evening...)

Likely the regular Yamazaki without an age on it. Yamazaki is certainly difficult to source, and JAL has been replacing the Yamazaki 12 in the First class lounges with Bowmore 12 on occasion and they are certainly not comparable whiskies.
