ORD to NRT in J?

What is the J cabin like on the 777 aircraft? I've flown JL on many flights (both long haul and short haul), but only in Y. How does JL J compare to CX on TPAC flights? Am I better off trying to score a J seat on JL's 787 instead?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

The J seat on ORD NRT is superb (https://www.jal.co.jp/en/newsky/ss7/). The same seat is used on the 773s for LAX, SFO, and JFK

The JAL 787 is a mixed bag from the US. The DFW flight has a very similar seat (https://www.jal.co.jp/en/newsky/ss8_ss9/)

but for right now at least, the other 787 flights don't have the good seat (see https://www.jal.co.jp/en/inflight/in....html#suite787 for a list)

I flew F on CGK-NRT-ORD this week but peeked back at J on both legs and was very impressed with the seat. I flew CX on the way over in J and easily put JAL on par seat wise.

I've been checking availability and a J seat on the 787 is available from JFK if I leave the US five days later. Either travel date works for me, which is the better option?

JFK - NRT on a 787 or ORD - NRT on a 777 in J?

Based on the links provided it looks like I should go for ORD - NRT .

Thanks.

Same seat. (just some cosmetic changes) Take the route that is easier for you to position. JFK arrives @ noon, ORD arrives around 2pm

It's not just cosmetic when the seat is wider in one version :)
