Looks like there's a Sakura lounge in Kagoshima?
I can't find much information, suppose it's nothing exciting
if these photos are anything to go by?

You are correct, nothing exciting but has all you would expect from an airline lounge. Place to sit down, work area with tables, free Wi-Fi (I do not know Kagoshima Airport itself has free Wi-Fi), free soft drinks, free beer, and free shochu! (焼酎), yes Kagoshima is known for shochu and the lounge has some local selections. Also, prepackaged snacks and news papers.
Japan Air Commuter (part of JAL Group) has prop flights to Amami Islands and northern Ryukyu Islands from Kagoshima, so kind of having very small hub kind of operation with connecting passengers to from Amami Islands and northern Ryukyu Islands to rest of Japan.
JL does operate some HND-KOJ by 767 and Sakura Lounge at KOJ is small enough that it is possible that the lounge can reach the capacity, but when I was there the lounge was not that busy.

I have been to Sakura Lounge at Kagoshima. It is small, no windows. Felt like small lounge at a basement of the building because there is no window. Gate area will have open airy, more spacious feel than the lounge.

During our Japan trip, booked an avios trip from CTS-HIJ. Experience at CTS was fantastic from the first class security to the JAL Diamond Premier Lounge.
I have some photos from the lounge if people would like to see, but views of the apron and surrounding mountains were fantastic.

JAL will open the 5th Diamond Premier Lounge at OKA on Feb 28 2018. This is definitely a welcome news as the existing lounge is often very crowded with all the MRers

Looks like a very nice improvement for Naha. Unfortunately I don't have any Naha departing flights coming up.
