NRT-YVR
From December 1 2013 till Feb 28 2014*. Will be replaced by 788 from Mar 30 2014
Seat maps from December 1 2013 have been updated with SS6 configuration. However, the flights will be operated with A43 configuration, i.e. JAL SKYRECLINER, on December 4 2013 and every Tuesday except for December 3 2013. SS6 service will turn daily from January 29 2014
*Due to the GEnx engine issues, JAL will be using a mix of 787-8 and 767-300ER between Feb 1 and 28 2014. Between Mar 1 and 29 2014.
NRT-KUL
From January 10 2014.
Seat maps from February 1 2014 have been updated with SS6 configuration. However, the flights will be operated with A43 configuration, i.e. JAL SKYRECLINER, every Wednesday and Thursday. SS6 service will turn daily from March 2014

I have my fingers crossed that this will be the case. We head out on JL746 on Aug 28th and right now it shows SS6 but I am trying not to get my hopes up. The Skyluxe seats are terrible.

Hello - I'm New 
I'm due to be flying around the Far east in January 2013. 9 flights in total over 2 weeks, but one of them will be from HND-SIN on JAL. Last week week when I was in the booking the JAL site said JAL035 was 787 with Neo
Today JAL site said JAL035 was 767 with SS6!!
Not sure what i'll end up getting. Would like to fly 787 as never have done, but really would prefer complete lie flat on such a long flight so I think SS6 makes sense..
The JAL website still shows only minimal flights for SS6 from October onwards... Surely with HND-SIN being such a long flight it should be SS6?

2014 Winter Schedule should be out within the month and hopefully you will know if it will still be SS6 by the time you travel or not. Lately, JL has been doing/undoing changes and I guess they are trying to finalize things.

Seems like JL just updated their booking engine and SS6 is back for NRT/HND-SIN, HND-BKK, NRT-HAN starting Oct 26 also with NRT-MNL, this time JL741/742, on SS6 until end of Nov.

Booking engine is now updated as SS6 until next year but not yet on the website. This could be because it was Obon but let's wait for the official release of the winter schedule due sometime before Friday, the 22nd. ^

With regards to SS6, are there any preferences on seat choice?
Does row 1 have any additional space? Is it possible to select this seat online once booking is made or are these seats typically blocked for elite / high tier members??
I think i'd prefer row 2 as I want a window seat.. but extra space may draw me to row 1 if there is some

Currently only the summer schedule (29Mar-25Oct) has been loaded to the system. As to the question if it would still be SS6 or 787, no one knows until mid Aug when JL releases the winter schedule.
