Still gonna be on select flights until the end of this month Kinda disappointed my return is on SS6 actually, would prefer the 788. I wouldn't let the change dissuade me from booking further flights on this route.

Ha are those seats that bad or you are just too wide SKY SUITE on SS7 are so much better and I would avoid NEO if I could. I probably will try out the 788 if I am flying to NGO though

I'm not fat, honest!

No matter how thin you are, the high walls make for tight shoulder room especially in the bed position. There's a lot more space to spread out with Neo.

And then of course there's the whole matter of the 787 being a nicer aircraft overall... it may be a fire hazard, but it sure is pleasant in the cabin

I wouldn't necessarily prefer Neo to SS6, but Neo on the 787 is preferable to SS6 on the 767 in my eyes.

Hey FAA says it's safe

NEO on 788 are actually wider than the ones on 773. So I am sure it is quite a bit wider than SSII on SS6.

I don't have the same problem with SS on SS7 though even with high walls. Probably that's the 13cm bed width making the difference

Actually having just flown in these seats I don't any more. Just to note that while the pitch is fine the seats themselves are pretty hard and lack sufficient padding. AA's seats are much more comfortable in this regard. And while the water bottle holder is a nice addition, it actually robs any of the extra space from one's left leg!

BTW the plane was inbound from YVR (late arrival), outbound to SIN replacing the 788.

Oh you comparing the AA Y or MCE? Haven't tried AA new seats but I did sat in the SKY WIDER on SS7 for 1 min on the plane and to be honest I would rather have the premium economy when possible. The main problem I have is the recline which isn't bad but economy is economy you know PY is just so much better. maybe I will try check out the padding if I get a chance next time.

Don't think so because there will be 788 too. JAL only plans to retrofit a couple of 767s. The focus will shift to SKY NEXT retrofitting soon.

I know JAL has stated they were moving to put in lie flat seats on all medium to long haul routes to SE Asia.

I was looking around for early next year and noticed that the redeye from SGN-NRT is a 767 with recliners. Think this will changed to the SS6?

I saw the daytime SGN-NRT route has the current SS6.

The SS6 one is SGN-HND not NRT. I have no idea when NEO/SS/SSII seats will be deployed on NRT-SGN. JAL usually announces new SS6/SS7 location one at a time. The next one is June 13 on NRT-CGK. So presumably we will find out more about the next destination after CGK around/after June 13.
