1. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. NGO-HNL is booked in business class, but HND-NGO is in economy. Will we still get the baggage allowance as if we're flying business class the whole way?
2. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. Will we have lounge access in HND?

Passport Validity Policy?
I'm flying from NRT to DEL, and just realized that I'll only have 5.5 months of validity left on my passport on the date of my flight. Does JAL enforce a minimum of 6 months of validity on the passport? TIMATIC says that the passport is considered valid until the day before expiration.
I'm flying on a US passport with an indian OCI card in lieu of a visa.
Thanks! I'm panicking a little!

First time JL Flyer-to-be here, and wondering whether those knowledgeable could provide your insights into the following:
1. The flight we are most likely to be on (in J) is 783, a 767 with the Sky Suite. From the reading I have done on FT, it appears that there is a mixed reaction as to which seats a couple might desire. We have a daytime flight and it would be nice to be able to chat with each other. Is the aisle-window seats best for that? From the pictures I've see on the JL website, it appears that is the case? Of course, I've seen reviews that the window seat is a bit cramped: Would that be an issue for my slender 5'7" Japanese-American wife? On the other hand, the middle seats appear to have a large and non-retractable divider: Is that true?
2. If the scenario is a nighttime flight, does that change the desirability of the seat location. From what I've read, the window seat is definitely the most private.
3. We will be connecting in NRT to a JL domestic flight in economy. We have about 90 minutes. Are there special challenges with that set of facts?
Many thanks for your help.

90 min is more than enough for domestic connection.

Although etiquette advice is always appreciated when asked for, I never said anything about talking across an aisle--rather, I asked a question about selecting seats on either the center section or the window-side.
Oh, by the way, is this not the helpful, flame-free section?

No where do I say I want to converse across an aisle. Perhaps you should look at a 67 seat chart. However, if this is the nature of your offer of help to Newbies, thanks for the unwanted etiquette lesson. You can now turn your attention to the next Newbie.

For a night flight the window seat is preferable to anything else, but only the window seats in the even numbered rows count here....

Btw, the seats aren't cramped at all. Remember that JAL designs seats for the Japanese audience, so if anything, I'd say it was more of a concern for a 6'2" American, otherwise not an issue

The 767 has Vantage seats, the middle ones are the best for a couple, you are reasonably close conversation is pretty easy. Across the aisle you are much further apart.

You absolutely want the two middle seats. The G/K seats on the 767 are way too far apart to talk. The middle partition is retractable - I just flew on this plane (but on JL779, KOA-NRT), and it works fine for talking. If you can get onto the 777 or the 789 instead, then the A/C and G/K seats are much more conducive to this, but otherwise your best bet is D and G.

JAL - ?????787-9 JAL SKY SUITE 787
It looks like if we chose the middle seats (DG), we could not have eye contact while sitting back in our seats. If we chose back-to-back A or K seats, it looks as if conversation might be easier if the window-side person just leaned forward a bit and looked backwards to the "adjacent" seat (which is really the next seat back). I am not sure what plane has "C" seats?
Again, many thanks for your insights.

Thanks to you both for your helpful observations. I'm looking at this picture of the J cabin from the JL website:

Thank you for pointing that out. Not sure how I messed up with my link clicking.
This is the correct seating:
http://www.jal.co.jp/jal_panorama/sk...767/business1/
Which makes the whole decision on where to sit a whole lot more obvious.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I am searching online and find a flight detail from Singapore to Toronto (round-trip) by JAL with layover in Tokyo and Vancouver.
It says that flying from Vancouver to Toronto will be by Japan Airlines (*operated by Westjet).
1) So, will I be flying using JAL or WestJest?
2) If it is by WestJet, does anyone know if it leaves on-time or is often delayed?
3) Will I go through custom in Toronto or Vancouver?
4) If it is Vancouver, when flying back to Singapore, will 2 hours be enough to pick up my baggage in domestic airport, re-check in them international airport and go through custom?
Thank you for your help.

2. Westjets homepage is the most likely source for that info. You would need the actual Wedtjet flight number to find it though
3. Vancouver
4. Flying from Toronto to Vancouver, and then on to Tokyo, you do not need to reclaim your luggage at YVR, your luggage will be checked through and all you need to do is walk from the C gates to the D gates. Connected airside

JAL compensation coupon/voucher
Hello
We are on a disrupted finternational flight today (aircraft swapped to domestic 772). JAL proactively handed out blue postcards to claim for coupons or miles. Since we are not members of JMB, we will claim the coupons.
Each member of the group will receive coupons. Does anyone know if these coupons can be combined together when using them. For example, if we buy a flight and redeem the coupon, can we use more than one coupon? If so, they will be quite useful. If we can only use them one by one (or only by the named person) then they will be less useful since the individual coupon amount is quite trivial.
Many thanks.

1. You will be on a Wedtjet plane, with a JL codeshare flight number. Except for your flight number and luggage allowance, everything else will be Wedtjet standard
2. Weather's homepage is the most likely source for that info. You would need the actual Wedtjet flight number to find it though
3. Vancouver
