Just to kick start a wiki, with answers to frequent questions.
1. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. NGO-HNL is booked in business class, but HND-NGO is in economy. Will we still get the baggage allowance as if we're flying business class the whole way?
A: Yes. written here (link)
2. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. Will we have lounge access in HND?
A. Definitely, within the lounge access rules of course. written here (link)

A hack I usually do is to access the JAL booking via QR manage my booking site, and replace whichever partner FFP no with my JMB account no. After that I can access the booking and of course print e-tix if necessary via JAL website.

Flying with OH on JL 1 SFO-HND in F and we have two middle seats on 77W. Is there a divider between the seats?
Can it be lowered?
Where can I find pictures of these seats?
TIA

I know this is a flame-free thread, and God knows I've asked some newbie questions here, so I have to be respectful of people's conundrums, but have.. you ... considered Googling for "jal first class middle seat picture"? I literally had all the answers to your question in that single image search.

Thank you CX for delaying my flight. I was “escorted” by JL773 CAs from immigration to baggage claim at MEL and there’s a big JL ad once I got off the plane too. These make up for the horrible CX flight I just had

you can use this link (URL). Uncheck the checkbox just above the "Go" button, to get an all english eticket that you can PDF/print (without the Japanese language notations).

How was your experience?
Japan Explorer Pass fare
Mine (my sister's, since I am a Japan resident) was that, they wouldnt issue the BP and check in cannot be done online, simply because they need to verify that the buyer of the fare has entered Japan on a non-resident visa (passport stamp), something that you (the purchaser) wouldn't have without first landing in Japan.
>Only individuals residing outside of Japan with an international air ticket to and from Japan are eligible to purchase JAL Japan Explorer Pass Fares.

Ah that makes plenty of sense. Thanks Tokyoite. The trip's not till late July so I wouldn't know till then. I might just try and get an Ultra Sakitoku ticket instead to avoid all the hassle associated with the JEP. It's on the outbound so the lower 20kg baggage allowance won't be much of an issue. However, I am able to book the JEP ticket right now instead of waiting 75 days prior, allowing me to lock in on the tickets during what is the peak summer travel season. Any idea if the noon HND-HKD flight on a Saturday in late July regularly fills up? Not quite Obon yet but coming close to it. Decisions decisions...

For last year, deep discount advanced purcharsed fares were available on 25 Jan 2018.
Reservation start at 09:30AM 25th Jan 2018 (JST) for flights from 25th March 2018 to 27th October 2018.
JMB member/JAL card/status holders have earlier access.

Many thanks for that info. January seems like a reasonable time to book. Will aim for that then.

JAL Schedule Change Policy

Does JAL have an official policy regarding schedule changes? In other words, if the original flight departure time changes by X number of minutes, a person can change/cancel their itinerary? Specifically, if a flight departure changes by 30 minutes, is there any hope of recourse? Forgive me if this is covered somewhere. I have tried to search. Lots of info out there on US carriers, but I've had no luck finding JAL's policy.

For more detail, I did contact JAL by email and received a response that I could refund the ticket with no penalty - but since I booked the ticket through an OTA it had to be done through the OTA. Unfortunately, I made the rookie mistake of booking my ticket through Justfly. They, unsurprisingly, tell me it's a minor change and are unwilling to refund or change the ticket. I'm looking for any type of written policy, in addition to my email from JAL, to help persuade Justfly to refund or change my ticket. Does anyone have any information about JAL's policy when they change a scheduled flight time? Thank you for sharing if you do! And my deepest apologies if this has been asked and answered.

The AA arrival lounge is only for AA and BA passengers, not a oneworld access lounge. Plaza Premium arrivals does do walk ins at a relatively high price (my personl view)

OTA policy as well as JL policy apply in this case and they will go by the most restrictive one unfortunately. OTA can still charge you the refund penalty when JL agreed to waive it.
