1. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. NGO-HNL is booked in business class, but HND-NGO is in economy. Will we still get the baggage allowance as if we're flying business class the whole way?
2. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. Will we have lounge access in HND?

In February I'll be flying YVR-NRT / HND-CTS for a ski trip, then NRT-YVR back home 3 weeks later.
Looks like my ski bag will cost $200 as oversized. Since I'm collecting and re-checking the bag in HND, will I have to pay the $200 again? Or will my ticket be somehow marked as "oversize fee already paid" when paying at YVR? If I'm paying $400 total for the outbound trip I'll probably just ship it ahead of time.

I'm on JAL 61 tomorrow PE, bought from AA and have had no luck contacting JAL to try and get a non middle PE seat. AA can;t change the seat or seem to get in voice contact with JAL. Anything I can do besides get to airport early? Ant upgrade options in miles or not much cash (I know unlikely) I bought one way PE then on to HAN. Just need first leg changed to non middle seat. Thank you

If you have a JL flight number, you can upgrade with JAL miles, either in advance or at the airport.
There is no discounted cash upgrade option, you'd basically need to reprice the ticket to J.
Online check in 24 hours in advance can change your seat to anything available. I not sure if online check in has become more stable for AA coded flights after the Amadeus change, but sure works for JL coded
For AA coded start online check in from the AA Web site, that should route you to JL If it fails, try directly from JAL. If that fails, 3 hours before at the airport is when the JAL check in opens

When you say bought from AA, do you mean an AA ticket with JL flight numbers, or with AA flight numbers?

It is on JAL metal but I bought from AA.com because half the price. Okay will try and get online to change, JAL seems impossible and AA always says they can;t

Sorry I am confused. As far as I know there is an AA number 8420 and a JAL number 61. The plane has JAL written on it. The website I booked it on was AA.com. Are there flights that only have one number?

LAX-NRT can be purchased from AA as either JL061 or AA8407 (operated as JL061) on a 001 AA ticket? Did you purchase JL61 or AA8407?
ETA: might be moot. All fare classes are zeroed out for JL61 (& AA8407 for that matter) tomorrow 1/8. It looks like the flight is sold out. ExpertFlyer shows the only open seat in PE is a middle 20E.

Does Expertflyer show that correctly less than 24 hours before departure, when OLCI is open?

I'm not entirely sure because it seems like there was some undependability even after the Amadeus conversion, but JL61 isn't available on jal.com for PE so a full or nearly full cabin would fit.

You can check in all day for any flights. So 7pm will not be problem. Even though the flight is past midnight it still counts as the same day.

Upgrade with JL miles but credit to Asiamiles
hello there,
i am planning to buy JL PY tickets and upgrade them to J class using JL miles (transferring it from my credit cards). Can I still credit the flights to my CX MPC and Asiamiles? Thank you for answering!

of course. Just change the FFP number at check in (and take photos of the boarding pass with your phone incase you need to retro credit)

Is it correct to say that JAL domestic awards are released exactly 60 days prior on the date of flight (i.e. if you're looking for a flight on the 15th of a month, then the seats will be released two months earlier on the 15th) at 9am Japan time? I feel like I read that somewhere but I can't find my source.

For 1Feb2019, booking starts at 1Dec2018 09:30AM(JST)
For 30Apr2019, starts at 28Feb2019 09:30AM
For 31Aug2019, start at 30Jun2019 09:30AM
For 30Apr2020, starts at 29Feb2020 09:30AM
etc.
Curiously, if you use BA Avios, you can book 62 days in advance. This Japanese 2 months system may be difficult to implement :-)
Yes, BA redemption system accepts 62 day advanced booking for JAL domestic flights.
IMHO, 62 days period matches 2 months in booking September flight in July.
