How sad, the idea was so thoughtful but I think it started out a bit weird as it was originally only available in Japanese...meaning those pax who don't read Jap, also those who would probably benefit from the guides the most, can't really appreciate it. Maybe it was a bit too late when they started distributng the English version.

I have a few copies in Japanese and I'm glad I took them, uber helpful!
Maybe they can keep printing them and give them out to F pax on request or display them in lounges around the world, great service+great ad potential all around, is it not?

I noticed this on the F in-flights service page:

"Postcards, and ball point pens are available upon request."

Anyone ever asked for these? Is it something they still readily provide?

Postcards Postcards!!!
A lot of the times I got postcards of a JL plane, I think its either 777-200 or 767-300ER, can't remember. And you get postcards in Y too if you ask, also available in some lounges for grab. I'm not sure if they give out nicer/different cards for F pax tho.

You don't even have to ask for the postcards. They are on display with the timetable, JALCard applications, etc...even in Y. And JAL has variety than just 777 and 767 postcards...there is a cartoon version of 744...and they used to have a lot of 744 postcards not sure if they still have them on 744 flights

I have written many short notes on the JAL postcards.

If you write it up in flight and give it back to the stewardess, they will mail it for you, just like in the old days on most every other airline.
