Priority Baggage Delivery Tag Question

Hi,
I was on TPE-NRT with JL today. Since I was OW sapphire, I had no problem to use business counter check-in for Y ticket in TPE (china airline agent tough), however, the agent didn't post any priority tag. So I asked her if I could get the prioirty tag. She refused.

Everytime I flied with CX, I got the prioity tag. So.. my question is "is it just JL? or I am not entitled to priority baggage tag, which has no saying in OW benefit?

Thanks

Priority baggage is NOT listed as a OW benefit and of course JAL follows the rules...I see you are a CX Silver, of course CX will give you priority tag because that's part of CX's frequent flyer benefits

As JALPAK mentions. Priority Bags is not a OW benefit. Although if you hold OW status and fly CX they usually will tag priority bags for you.

As for JAL priority bags this is the order of baggage delivery.

First Class, JGC Diamond, JGC Premier - First Class Tag (Red)
JGC Sapphire, JGC Crystal, JGC member - JGC Priority Tag (Gold)
Sapphire and Business Class - Business Class Tags (Blue)

I'm not sure where Crystal fits.

But I have seen LAX deliver baggage in this order: Red -> Blue -> Gold
In NRT the order is definitely: Red -> Gold -> Blue

Better than UA

I've seen Economy Economy Economy, first at KIX. Then all the F C and *G members flying were waiting around the baggage carosel for 30 min(priority bags came out last). In the end we were all pretty pissed. F bags came out after *G members. Imagine what the baggage attendant had to live through. 20-30 pissed off premium customers including me

They gave me the Business Class Tags (Blue) last time i few internationally with them but my last trip domestically ended in tears when they refused to priority tag it with the reply that "JAL doesn't do that but every other OW carrier does"

As mentioned it's not a OW elite benefit unlike *A.

Wow, that's really bad that there's no luggage benefit in OW. So even Emerald members get refused?? What a bad policy... anger the highest tier elites by refusing a simple benefit that costs nothing to provide.

I can tell you that in Japan i've found it very rare that anyone doesn't follow the rules they have to the letter. If they have been told it's only for JAL Elite then that's it. Closed case. If you get checked in by a contracted company on behalf of JAL ( I suspect this happened to me before when i did get tags) then you may get lucky.

As mentioned above they are completely within their right not to provide that benefit as there is nothing anywhere that says they have to. Japan is one of the few places in the world where if your bag is tags priority it does come out first whether it be with JAL or ANA so it's a pretty valuable benefit here. Some times i've come off a flight from CTS to HND and my bags come out the moment i get there and i just pick them up and keep walking.

The time i did get my bags tagged priority, I nearly got op upped up on JAL once as an Sapphire except it was an award seat and they said they would have op upped if i wasn't on the cheapest booking class. I was like ohhh don't tell me that......

Oh and Unimatrix One please help me with my Diamond Premier Lounge problem. See here and reply there http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/13935819-post74.html i know you must know whether i'm a goose or not.
