It's only speculations at this point due to the recent layoff decision JAL made. Some people just like spreading harmful rumors without giving details and try to scare people. Even IF CA/pilot unions do strike, according to history, it will only affect domestic operations and it will be a short one. And the strike will be announced in advance. I won't loss any sleep at this point.

Looks like they have started the voting to authorize a strike according to the latest report. Voting ends on Monday. But I am still optimistic about this. (Although the strike might work in my favor and will let me change my travel dates :p) The last planned strike was canceled at the end and other ones only last a short period of time and only affect domestic flights. To be honest, it's stupid for them to strike. It will be very hard for them to win any public support. Enough steps have been taken by JAL before they resort to layoff.
