Rumored list of routes to be suspended

According to Yomiuri Daily News, JAL will axe more routes by March 2011 than originally planned. The following link has the list in Japanese...

The translated list can be found on my blog:
International suspensions list
Domestic suspensions list

Jiji.com reports about frequency reductions at NRT.

Translated list + my speculations:
Rumored frequency reductions on NRT routes

They cut KIX-SIN as well as KUL [and retimed NRT-KUL as a result, the planes used to go NRT-KUL-SIN-KIX with KIX-SIN-KUL arriving in KUL after KUL-SIN left].

I thought they were just going to cut the SIN-KUL leg JL721/722.

I thought they were getting rid of NRT-BNE as well...

I will only view this as just a rumored list for now...some of them have be axed already some are new, e.g. SFO, AMS, FCO, etc

I expect SFO to be the first US route to be axed but didn't expect YVR survived while SFO doesn't

indeed if the rumor is true...

Another one I feel sad about is KIX-HKG. My first flight as a kid was on a JAL 747 from HKG to KIX and LAX-NRT/HND-ITM/KIX-HKG is my new itinerary when I fly back to HK (2 day trip in Japan without stopover and extra FOPs) but I guess I will have to stick with NRT and pay the USD100 stopover fee whenever I want have a short shopping trip in Japan

Too much competition for them in SFO....they run a government sanctioned duopoly with AC on the YVR route!

I was in a rush when I posted this...apparently in the article, it mentions JAL is looking to launch 7 new HND routes including HND-SFO and HND-CDG.

So...JL001 and JL002 will remain (ex-HND international flights have the same flight number range)

Disinformation and Misinformation

More shameless propaganda and misinformation by the so-called "unquoted sources".

This kind of sh!t has been going on for almost a year now.

Recently the japanese press really lost a lot of credibility whilst reporting about JAL. It's been used and abused all over the place. It's been a real mess... Looking at how the Japanese press has been reporting about the Japanese airline industry one would almost wonder if Japan really is a developed country to begin with. And then I am not even refering to the underlying events that are bad enough as it is.

Anyway: the decline continues...

.

Wow. I'd bet NRT-FRA and NRT-JFK (given AA already code-share) will be elimated at some point. Or at least F class will be removed?

At first I was shocked at the idea of JAL getting rid of NRT-SFO, because this is a crowded route. When UA suspended their second NRT-SFO, the other four flights got that much more crowded. But I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw HND-SFO as the replacement... I'm mostly a *A flyer but I'm completely behind the idea of HND rather than NRT. So I hope that goes through and NH follows suit!

Um...AA operates LAX and ORD too...I would want to see AA completely gone instead Not that I can afford F seats any time soon but it will be a shame if AA's F is the only choice left. JAL Suite is way better than AA F, both hard and soft product-wise.

JALPak, you mentioned on your blog that JAL is starting up service to SFO/CDG from HND. Has a full list of new international service out of HND been published by JAL yet?
