Pisa hotels

Looking for a hotel in Pisa for one night, wanted to see the tower and then hop on a train to Florence the next day.

Thanks

Hi -I would suggest Hotel Relais Dell'Orologio (http://www.hotelrelaisorologio.com). It's a very nice hotel smack in the heart of town, few yards from Piazza dei Cavallieri (where the prestigious Scuola Normale is) and Piazza dei Miracoli (Leaning Tower, Baptistery etc). It is on the pricey side though. Alternatively, located right on the Arno bank, is the Royal Victoria Hotel. Kind of (faded) elegant communal spaces, some rooms are nice, some others can be not-so-good...but pricewise can be quite competitive. Hope this helps.

Much better off checking your bags at the Florence train station and visiting Pisa for half a day then staying in Florence that evening. In my opinion, seeing the Tower is the only worthwhile activity in Pisa.

Pisa

If you are arriving at Pisa airport and seeking to do a quick tour before heading to Florence it might make sense just to get the local bus to the station, stay in that (not especially nice) locality, walk across town to the tower and when done head from the station to Florence. The Jolly Hotel (Piazza Stazione) is the nicest of the hotels around there, but there are others, depending on your budget.

We have spent a night in Pisa 3 times. always in Feb, to catch a 6am flight. We have had great difficulty getting a room. the only hotel not sold out is the Jolley, which was the most expensive hotel in town. Nice hotel, good location, but, other than that, no rooms at the inns...in Feb.

Pisa

Pisa seems popular for convention business, so all hotels can be packed full one day with reasonable availability the following day.
