Rome - E-ticket websites down?
 

For about a week now, I have not been able to get the websites for the Colosseum, the Villa Borghese and a couple other places to load. I've tried both Safari and Firefox, computers and phones - they all get the same message:I can get broker sites which sell combo passes to the attractions, but I don't need a combo pass. Anybody have a backdoor to these websites, or know what is going on?

These sites are only available during during working hours (local time). I won't try to guess why. Try first thing in the morning & you'll see them up and working.

Thanks, that worked for the Colosseum, but the Villa Borghese doesn't appear to be on it.

Finally got access to the site when it was up, found a time that worked for me, tried to buy a ticket. The form required not just the usual name/address/email/credit card number, but date and place of birth, gender, and a few more questions that had nothing to do with a simple financial transaction. At that point, I opted out of that site.

I was able to book a ticket for the Galleria Doria Pamphilij with only the usual name/address/email/CC, so opted for that.

Yeah that's weird. Probably using that to determine discount eligibility and such, but they really should not require it if you're not claiming any kind of discounted ticket.
