Just back and had a lovely time! Not so crowded in the Alba region right now, unlike other places in Italy. Ended up staying at one of the Relais & Chateau properties which was fantastic - a castle perched on a hill top in Guarene. Their restaurant was also great - much better (food and value) than La Piola, which was very disappointing except for one dish. La Morra and Neive were especially charming little villages.

Nice article about Camogli in NYT travel re: Liguria (Golfo Paradiso)
Often overshadowed by its popular neighbors...."Portifino is for the Americans, Camogli is for us Italians. "
Article focuses on the 10 mile stretch of Coastline in Italian section of Liguria.
