Hey guys,
Going to be in Italy and was looking for a low redemption hotel via SPG. Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton Venice Mestre? It looks really nice. The only problem I see is its location pretty far away from Venice island. How is the transportation around there getting from the hotel to Venice island?
Thanks

That would be a mistake. It’s not in the city of Venice, it’s in Mestre. A bad part of Mestre. You’ll need to walk to the train through where you won’t feel safe, then wait for a train to Venice that takes you to a bad part of Venice. Then have to take an expensive boat to get anywhere decent in Venice. Then do the reverse to get back to the hotel. This is a bad use of time and money just to redeem points to stay at a $75 hotel. If you’re going to Venice you should stay in Venice.
