No, KLouis I fully agree with. Too often we tell someone to go back and relive the great vacation that I HAD. Make your own memories. All we can do is tell people to stay out of the obvious traps. Yesterday in Rome I made the stupidest mistake ever, mentioning fettuccini Alfredo as a dish they actually eat in the USA. Took me 15 minutes to explain my way out of it. All they kept asking as I backtracked, was "who the hell is this Alfredo guy?"

Don't go to everyone else's favorite place. Be wise, good advise is spoken here; but add to it.
