Taormina Hotel

Any thoughts on the Atahotel Capotaormina hotel in Taormina? Also, how about the San Domenico Palace hotel?

Is it better to be on the water at the Atahotel Capotaormina, or up in the city?

Any Taormina hotel recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have stayed at the Hotel Villa Diodoro twice, excellent location, great views, nice pool.

havent stayed at either, but will offer advice on the locations.

SD is in town (and expensive). It is off the walking tourist loop but accessible for you to wander into town. it is top notch

atahotel looks nice and good location. however it is out of town though on the water. if you want to consistantly wander through the town, it would require coordinating bus schedules back to the hotel. probably not difficult but limits spontinaity

taorimina is a fun, crowded town. the SD lets you stay in town and bail out when it becomes hectic. ATA lets you enjoy the ocean but puts your town experience on a schedule

You may want to consider Villa Sant' Andrea.
