Whats the name of the local Supermarkets?
I found a Billa and a Coop. I looking for a big Supermarket next to the Railway station.

Public transport for Venice with the exception of trains terminating at Venezia Santa Lucia and buses at the Piazzale Roma is by waterbus - vaporetto - or water taxi. You could look for Vaporetto maps for Venice.

As you don't say how long you will be in Venice, there's no way of helping you with your second question.

Finally, there ISN'T a big supermarket next to the railway station; Venice being an island, all 'shops' are little ones with their goods being transported by water hence pricey. You'll find bigger supermarkets in the town of Mestre which is across the causeway on the mainland opposite Venice. Billa and Coop should suit your immediate needs unless you plan to shop for a month's travelling at once. Where they are will be shown on a Google map of Venice ... not necessarily next to the train station.

the biggest grocery i recall is the coop on murano. my wife usually buys stuff like tomato paste in tubes there. there are immense coops in other parts of italy, but i recall none in venice. i recall a coop or two in venice, but they did not carry food.

There's a Coop supermarket on the Grand Canal at Piazzale Roma. That might be the one that the OP is talking about. It's right across the canal from the side of the station as the crow flies, but not as the human being walks in Venice! And it definitely carries food.

There are some other supermarkets scattered around Venice proper, for example the Billa branches on the Zattere and on the Strada Nuova, and a shop (maybe Punto?) just below Piazza Santa Margherita that's bigger than it looks from the outside. They're not massive ipermercati, but they're quite adequate. And they're helping to drive the little family shops out of business.

Good point - its located on the Fondamenta Santa Chiara. I never shop in the area so it completely slipped my mind.

the big open(fish?) market is at the foot of the rialto bridge. on the west side.they open early, close early. great prices on soccer jerseys. another small is on via garibaldi near the arsenale stop. there are others.

i don't know how venitians survive on pasta, pastry, coffee and wine.

From Vancouver to Victoria i take the Public Plane to get on the island. :D

look up a couple pics of a vaporetto. there are in 2 sizes. the typical big one on the grand canal is just a big flat floating dock. you enter in the center and stand(unless you are lucky). it makes about 15 stops. you can get on and off at whatever stop you wish. tickets are sold for a single trip, or for a time frame. i think transit grand canal takes about an hour from the train station to the end of the island. when they cross to lido, they move about 30mph(50kph).

the ride up the grand canal is a real delight. i get a seat and rest, while riding that piece of the canal. i usually do it twice a day, now that i have gotten very old.

i found one Billa in Google Earth i think its the same you fond.
There is another Billa on Lido tomorrow i can poste the GPS Data.

I someone would take the ÖBB IC Bus from Klagenfurt -> Villach -> Veneve leave it.
The 1Class looks verry nice on Pictures but it feels like an Ryanair flight!

where did this two laptop thing come from? for what you need more than 2 laptop? who you that you even need two laptop?

The vaporettos (vaporetti) are not ferries. They are more like buses, they just happen to be boats.
Here is a basic overview of the transportation system including a link to a map. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g1...portation.html You can get to most places in Venice proper using the number 1 or number 2 vaporetto.
