Getting to/from PMO to downtown

Flying on Alitalia, staying near the central train station.
What are my options to/from the airport?

There is rail line A which goes to the central station and several buses.

You can also read about options here:

I've only ever driven it via personal auto but I've never heard complaints.

Don't take a taxi.

In 2009 we used the bus when leaving PMO. The service was reliable, clean & comfortable. The bus station was very close to the central train station.

Trains in Sicily are not comparable to those in northern Italy, and most Sicilians take the bus instead.

Your hotel should be able to tell you which bus to take - definitely DO NOT try and use a taxi in Palermo.
