Uffizi and Accademia
Well, the Mrs. and I are loving Venice. It is rather cool out, but the crowds are light and the eating/drinking and eating (did I say eating twice) is outstanding.
We're out to Firenze tomorrow and a I had the misfortune at looking at my Fodors and found the unpleasant bit about both the Uffizi and the Accademia -strongly needing reservations. D'oh!!!! Checked the Uffizi website and all web reservations taken for the rest of the month. Is there an expectation that the non-reservation queue on a weekday in February is going to be extraordinarily long? Buonasera! |
You could chance your arm and go an hour before it opens and see what the queue is like - and if your desperate wander past late in the day as the queues are shorter then. Accademia should be easier but there's less to see ..... or consider Bargello and the Duomo Museum instead?

Possible to check with your hotel if there is any tour you can join which will take care of the entrance tickets. Just a thought. Enjoy Uffizi.

There is more availability by phone than via the online reservation system. Another benefit is that by phone you don't have to pay at the time you reserve your time. So I would call and give that a try.
The number is 39 055 294 883. This is an english-speaking line and operates 8:30-6:30 M-F Florence time and 8:30-noon Saturday. |
Thanks for the info. We walked straight in last night at 5:00 pm with no wait.
Granted our stay was only 95 minutes, but the museum was simply stunning. |
