Is 1-2 day Rome stopover possible on CTA-JFK trip?
We're traveling from NYC to Sicily in Oct. and I'm struggling to find r/t flights that aren't exhausting. To that end, I'm considering adding an overnight stopover in Rome on the return, but I don't see any info on stopovers on the ITA website. Truth is, the fares aren't that great but I thought I'd check on the possibility regardless.
TIA for any info.

If you're not seeing the fares, it's likely because they don't offer it. IFAIK, there is no current stop over promotion (akin to what FI has in Reykjavik/Keflavik), but I could easily be mistaken.
Domestic tickets aren't that expensive if booked well to advance, so you could book JFK-FCO, have a few days and then onward to CTA. (Flag on the pitch in any event, given problems in CTA after the fire and work stoppages). Might consider PMO as an alternative.

Thanks TATLTAIL . I ended up booking JFK-FCO on AA and will now add ITA CTA-FCO tx separately.
When/if ITA hits Star hopefully there are more reward options like that too.
