I contacted KLM thru whatsapp today so they could enter my ITA number and thus get Elite Plus benefits for my one way ARN-AMS-LCY flight. After confirming that my ITA number was entered correctly, I was told I would get 1 pc check in bag for my Lite fare as an Elite plus and access to Crown Lounge 52, both of which were shown on the websites Manage my booking.
She had to double check the lounge access with the relevant department, and an hour later I was told I would have to pay lounge access in AMS since I will be traveling on a European flight, and free access is only for Elite Plus traveling on international flights. Now, the lounge access in AMS is gone on my booking
Seat selections (standard seats) on my ARN-AMS-LCY have always shown chargeable.

The ST rules are same day international flight. That's what you were on.
I'm fairly sure if you turn up at AMS they'll let you in.

SV update
Had flights with SV these days.
was able to add ITA elite plus number and get all the benefits associated (fast track / lounge / extra luggage / priority boarding). For the data point Kenya airways elite plus works like a charm too with Saudia.

ITA E+ on TAROM ex Bucharest.
The status was recognized after I entered it on some other SkyTeam airline website because Tarom's own website does not list ITA/Alitalia as options. After entering the FFP number, I got the option to choose any seat including 1A (on all Y 738). I don't have checked bags, but I guess I could take the extra piece.
The BP reflected the status and got me into the lounge with no issues (the lounge does not otherwise take Priority Pass/LoungeKey/Dragonpass). The lounge itself is probably the worst out of carrier-operated ones I ve seen, but this is another topic.

I flew with Delta Basic Economy FRA-JFK-FRA on this weekend. Added my ITA number while booking via a third party website, Delta IT obviously recognized the number and automatically gave me an extra piece of baggage (I know because the check in agent told me I had free baggage "anyway", which wasn't true).
In FRA, there is no priority security for SkyTeam elites flying coach, and the lounge DL uses (Plaza Premium) is closed for renovation. They confirmed I could use the lounge if it wasn't closed.
In JFK, I could use priority security but got denied entry into Virgin Clubhouse. Demanded to see the manager who explained to me that although ITA was part of SkyTeam, there was still no agreement for their elites to use VS lounges. I gave up at this point.
I visited Delta SkyClub without problems (sans having to wait in line for 10 minutes), they even have the ITA logo at the entrance
What surprised me: when I fly Air France with my (matched) ITA status, the boarding pass says "Sky Priority". The delta boarding passes made no mention of my status and simply said "BASIC", I had to show my ITA electronic card and talk my way into either priority security or the lounge.

When flying AF, have you gotten lounge access with the Sky Priority AF boarding pass though?

ITA SkyTeam elite plus on DL, LGA-YVR
Bought ticket via 3rd party, no option to add ITA number. Delta online checkin/ MMB doesn't show option for ITA or Alitalia. Check in agents' system showed Alitalia, but when entering the number system complained Alitalia isn't a SkyTeam partner, which meant the free bag was not honoured.
Skypriority not honoured - waved the digital card but was directed to the normal security queue. SkyClub access was granted manually (SkyTeam rules on same day international flights which I do have), since agents referred to another internal database for eligibility - they do have ITA's volare program information there.
Now I need to chase up DL for refund of the first bag fee paid... anybody knows what's the preferred avenue here?

Backdrop:
- Flying on AF out of CDG, Terminal 2E, to EU (non-Schengen) destination
- First time flying as a Volare Executive (Elite Plus)
- Paid ticket; could not even begin to fathom how I might add my Volare account number to this AF ticket
- My Volare ID was a printed page of my card, in color, with Dear Biggie Fries, Welecome to the ITA Executive Club at the bottom
- I went into this with a sense of adventure -- low expectations, to be sure, but also that sense of self-righteousness that comes from not being sure that you are actually entitled to anything. Also, I got to the airport a little early to leave plenty of time for "play."
- Access to Sky Priority check-in (part 1) Put on my best "This is where I am used to being" face, waved printed copy of Volare "card," and was let right in.
- Bag dropoff. There was only one person ahead of me in the line, which did not stop the process from taking forever. Belt was not working, either, so it was dubious as to who was actually going to take the bag. But the fellow at the desk did plaster it with yellow Priority stickers, and gave me a(nother) boarding pass, before sending me to their ad-hoc deposit system. I did not ask him to enter my Volare number.
- Sky Priority/Acces No 1 line access (part 1). Guy manning the entry was sending folks away left and right. Including me. He wanted no part of my printed Volare card. I pointed out to him that I had just arrived in front of him from his left, i.e., from the Sky Priority area. He did not care. No way, no how.
- Access to Sky Priority check-in (part 2) Since I still had some time, I circled back to the Sky Priority check-in. A nice support person there asked me what was up and I explained humorously that this was my second time around -- that I had already checked my bag, but had been refused entry to the priority lane for passport control and security. She took my printed "card" and talked with a colleague who said, yeah, fix the guys ticket with the number. Easier said than done. The two of them worked on it and worked on it, looked up the AZ prefix, tried and tried, but nothing worked. Finally, my original friend said that she would accompany me so that I could get the priority access.
- Sky Priority/Acces No 1 line access (part 2). That guy still said no! Even with his colleague there, explaining the issue. What followed next is something that could only happen in France: After a few minutes of back and forth, the guy said he would make a special exception for me, just this once, but kept explaining to his colleague how wrong this all was. I figured I was through, so, what the heck, be friendly, thank them both, but by now they had totally forgotten about me. I just walked to passport control with them still at the access point, arguing away.
- Passport control. Didn't seem to care how I had gotten there.
- Screening. There was a gal turning people aside, even though they had clearly come from the Priority side. She must have been trained along with the first guy. I did not even try to show her my Volare "card" since, fortunately, she was in an argument with someone she was turning away in front of me. So I just walked through like I belonged there. Which I sort of did!
- AF Lounge (K gates). Couldn't have been sweeter. Were aware of the new Volare "cards," and welcomed me right in. Had an excellent breakfast, too.

data point on VN: added my AZ # to my booking online and it was recognized as E+. no issues at the airport, was given all the benefits & a lounge access coupon (was at an outstation). sadly, no miles credited since VN is not a crediting partner but no matter as the flight was a short hop
