My god this rollout is such a sh*tshow... Tried to add my Volare number to my Air Europa booking, of course that did not work. Called Air Europa up, agent on the phone told me they have no affiliation with Alitalia nor ITA Airways even though they are a SkyTeam member.

Meh...
I sent two status match request for my kids in December. They answered the same day saying the ID provided weren't valid and try again, but I did not pursue it further.
Last week, I got an email out of the blue saying the status match for kid#1 was approved, BA gold to ITA executive.
Yesterday I got the confirmation email for Kid#2, BA gold to ITA Smart...
I wonder if someone there really know what they are doing.

Rash, I dunno: but focussing concern on plastic cards could be misguided when it seems there are existential threats to the project in its current form .

I was just pre-empting a debate with a lounge dragon, and thought a card might be slightly more effective than a jpeg. I think I've only once had a physical card demanded, but that was an annoying enough experience!
But yeah, if that happens I guess that means an alliance change (hopefully without a protracted 'void' period with no alliance)
