Normaly the food standard (room service, restaurant ans club lounge) is very good, though no Michelin-star-like though.
The full dinner in the lounge often really is stunningly good for lounge food.
Still, I can understand your point of view.
If having a real bad experience with one place I would also go rather with other places.
Having reading your overwhelmingly thoughts about Adina, I made a reservation for July, so I can make up my mind in the direct comparisn between Adine and the IC.

City wing?
Never stayed there, but PC website shows a pretty good rate for rooms in the "City Wing" of the IC Frankfurt. Can someone please explain this to me before I book something? Thanks.

The City Wing is accross the street from the main building and connected to it by a walkway under the street. I have never stayed in this part of the building.

I will be there in November for a couple of nights. Can't view my reservation for whatever reason but remember it was a city view room. I don't expect much in the upgrade department, since I am just a PL Ambassador. By the way, does anyone know of cheap parking around there?

Booked the property for one night November 20 for an insane EUR 75 all in prepaid rate. Together with the usual two category upgrade, lounge access and the other nice perks, this appears to be an amazing value

The IC is the cheapest place in town .
I thought I could not beat my own rate, however, I got this place for the first December weekend via a best rate claim for 61,20 Euro including breakfast for two per night. Room already upgraded from Standard Queen City Wing to Deluxe King River Wing. I will certainly not complain, the HI close to the IC was more expensive and did neither offer lounge nor breakfast.

I have a question. Being just a "buy up" AMB, where can I see that I was upgraded on my reservation? On the IC website or on PC? I have never seen it, but am always being upgraded at check-in.

On every website that shows the details of your reservation (eg. PC, IC, HI)
