Stayed at the CP LAX during a MR in early Feb. Got a 59$ rate with my Entertainment card.
Points never posted. So I called Customer Service Centre and was told that Entertainment rates (ER) do not qualify for points.
I searched through the priorityclub web site but couldn't find any information.
The funny thing is that I had stays in the past on the ER AND I have received points for them. So, was I lucky to get points in the past, or does the CSR that I talked to was not properly informed ?

Cdking, IDK how closely the Australian cards look like the US ones, but the logo/ script is the same. When I was in Aus in 2007 I used my US card at hotels without any problems nor weird looks.

Re: KathyWdrf #72: I just came back from a Florida trip where I stayed at 6 Holiday-Inn-Group hotels, 2 or 3 of which at Entertainment rates of 20 to 40% off. They ALL posted as Qualifying Rates ! Correct, the new T&Cs don't mention Ent. by name but merely include it in the catch-all of "half-price hotel clubs."
So now I have 3 Sweet Dilemma FNs to use !

I've only had one stay on the Entertainment rate (last week), but it posted no problems at all. I didn't have to present the card at check in either.

Experience at the CP Foster City, CA
Used the Ent Rate for the CP Foster city @ $54/nt. Best flexible rate was $99 meaning it was less than 50% off. Room did not post as qualifying and called PC Member Services. They stated that Entertainment rates are never qualifying and that I was lucky it happened in the past. They said they'd make a one time exception, but that it wouldn't happen again.
Thus far, my stays @ the CP SFO in Burlingame have posted as qualifying under the Entertainment rate...
I really don't like vague T&C...ugh!

This seems to settle it for certain hotels and IHG can extrapolate it towards all hotels:

I had an Ent Club rate booked before the change in T&Cs showed up on the website. Right before my stay (in early April) I got the "we're expecting you" email that included the new Ent rate= no points language.
I asked PC for clarification and was told Ent rate never earned points & advising me to rebook to a points earning rate, if desired.
Bottom Line: I kept my Ent rate reservation & was awarded points for that stay as I have on every other Ent rate booking I've ever made.
