Using Award Nights from 2 credit cards in a single reservation

I'm having what I think is a somewhat unique issue, and I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced this before and how (if) you were able to resolve it. I have 2 award nights, from 2 different IHG credit cards. I'm trying to use both nights to book a single stay of 2 nights. The hotel has a policy of 2 nights minimum, which is how many nights I'm planning on staying, however I am unable to book both nights under one reservation because the award certificates are not grouped together. So in order to use the award nights, I would have to book one night, then a second night under a different reservation. However the hotel's 2 nights minimum stay policy is preventing me from booking a single night.

I've currently on the phone with IHG. The agent tried to book 2 nights with points, and then attach the certificate, but system is not letting her do it. Right now, she's trying to talk to hotel to see if there's anything they can do, but I'm not holding my breath.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem, in my case it was cert for one night, points for he other, and a 2 night minimum. I tried a couple of different channels and no one could help.

This was probably 6 or 7 years ago. If the problem still exists today, that's disappointing but not at all surprising.

Update: Good news!

The hotel was able to set up the reservation so that my 2 award nights could be used. It is not showing up in my IHG account however, and I'm told it is something that had to be done on the hotel's system. I did get a confirmation email from the GM at the hotel showing my check-in/out date and room type booked.

Glad it worked out for you. Hope the certs got pulled from the account.

I have had this problem in the past and gotten hold of the person at the hotel in charge of the 2night min enforcement and gotten him to eliminate it for say 15 min. Then I call ihg to reserve. Call hotel back to let them know and the guy turns it on again.
