Question on stay of consecutive nights
If 3 nights at a same hotel are booked using qualifying rate for Friday, non-qualifying rate (e.g. award night or 3rd party) for Sat, and qualifying rate for Sun, does IHG consider these 3 nights as one stay or two stays? Thanks!

The hotel will probably merge everything into 1 stay unless the 2nd night is in the name of somebody else and you switch rooms.

According to the IHG Rewards Club terms and conditions,
"A “Stay” is defined as one night or consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of frequency of check-in/check-out."

Third party booking would not help I think, but award night is totally different animal and it could possible work in this case. But really depends on property.

Unless someone isn't doing their job, it will be a single stay. Doesn't matter that one of the 3 nights is an award.
If booking through a third party, there won't (or shouldn't by IHG's T&C) be any points or credit.

”
- Points will be awarded for Qualifying Stays booked through IHG’s central reservation offices, IHG web sites, authorized travel agents (excluding online travel agents such as Expedia.com and booking.com, and unauthorized agents on online vertical travel portals), or directly at the hotel.”
