List of properties that have (or have not) recognised Spire. AND Provided Spire 'Specific' Benefit.

I suggest listing country, brand, property, how you were recognised (Club/not at all etc) and the month you stayed that way if anyone stays after that date we can have an update on whether things have changed.

Or if anyone can think of a better solution feel free to change it.

I have been an avid reader for years and been collecting points/miles for even longer but this is my first actual post to this forum.

I have just spoken with a manager at a Holiday Inn property who said they had a conference call yesterday regarding the new elite tier. She missed the call and was unable to provide any specific details other than the widely reported benefits that have already been announced.

She did indicate and confirm the new tier would be called 'Spire' though.

A call to another IHG property where we are staying tonight did not yield any other new information, nor did a call to IHG Rewards Club.

I predict a massive ant-climax. Again.

Looks like several people are reporting on the "Spire" name and launch date of tomorrow.
http://loyaltylobby.com/2015/07/09/a...level-name-is/

We'll see, I guess.

I do have to wonder about the possibility of confusion with Spire Hotels:
http://www.spirehotels.com/portfolio/
They do own several IHG properties, just seems like it would be a weird choice to name your top level the same name as one of the franchisee's....

Bit of a bizarre name. Reminds me of the private healthcare company we have here in the UK.

Better late than never though but there is every possibility there will be an announcement saying they made a mistake and the 75 nights a year is really 125!

Now what else will be announced to come in January.....

Based on the information that I have received from several sources, there won’t be any additional property level benefits compared to Platinum elite benefits for now.
LOL. It may all have been a waste of time and effort.

I would think a Spire would tower over a mere Platinum in terms of who gets upgraded first?

So i will be a Spire Ambassador tomorrow?
what a daft name. Maybe we get a red nose to go with the red card as i am sure the front office staff will feel like clowns saying

thankyou for being a spire member

also i thought the basic club membership is red?
Hope i dont get confused with being a bog standard club member!

I guess it's better than being a Black Ambassador. Unless you are actually black and then it might be cool.

I wonder how many millions IHG spent on all the marketing studies before they choose Spire?

And I wonder if they actually chose Black and Spire was the second choice?

Around 3 USD I would imagine - on a pair of dice.
