Very interesting, I had just earlier received the routine email blast from LL which one of the items indicated no IHG PB preview list yet. But now there seems to be a preview list blog by LL... hmmm

Any chance it will have one in Las Vegas strip ( Venetian or Palazzo) on May 1 & 2 where the hotel prices now are $500-1000 per night on the said dates.

Almost none- Pointbreaks are generally to fill hotels during low occupancy periods. Have you considered the Intercontinental Lhasa? It is also in a desert, and they are talking about building a casino on an island in the Kyichu River...

I'm staying at one of those in June and it's like $400/night but that's because of EDC Vegas.....they jack up the rooms for the 300,000+ ravers that are going to be dancing the entire weekend away at the Speedway!

I'm stoked!!!!

Mayweather vs Pacquaio - most likely will be the highest grossing boxing match of all time. I think anyone going to that should have had refundable rates booked well in advance. The date was set ages ago.

Wrong. The date was set about 2 years ago when the Showtime contract was signed. Mayweather was always going to be fighting on May 2nd - only question was who he would be against. In Feb 2013 I booked the MGM for the days around September 14th that year which was already provisionally the date for a Mayweather fight. He ended up fighting Saul Alvarez. Room cost <$90 a night for 4 nights weds-sun but were about 5x that after the fight was announced.

Is this list supposed to whet our appetites? I'm finding it just a little hard to get excited about 5k hotels in Bloomington or West Edmonton. Maybe it's just me....
