Frequently Asked Questions
Please read these before asking your question in the thread.
  1. Q. If I book a stay using IHG points, does that count as a "stay" towards my Into The Nights offers?
    A. No.

  2. Q. If I book a stay using a cash and points rate, does that count as a "stay" towards my Into The Nights offers?
    A. No.

  3. Q. Will stays booked via a consolidator (like TravelPony) or other public travel portal or points portal count towards this promo?
    A. No. Your stays must be booked directly with IHG on their website or on their app. However, if you are booking through your corporate portal at work, this may post if such stays usually earn you base points.

  4. Q. How long will it take for my points to post?
    A. Normally they post within a week or two.

  5. Q. How long after stay points post to my IHG account is it until my personal Into the Nights dashboard is updated showing progress in my offers?
    A. The Tuesday after the stay points post to account. (edit: has been Thursday lately, November)

  6. Q. Where can I find the Bonus Point package with Breakfast rate?
    A. Click here to book Bonus Points Package with (or without) Breakfast rate.

NOTE: Make sure that your email confirmation states something like this:

Rate Description: Exclusive to IHG Rewards Club members. Earn Faster with this package offer plus breakfast - Earn 5,000 bonus IHG Rewards Club points per stay when you book the 5,000 Bonus Point Package plus breakfast each day (breakfast for up to 2 adults sharing a room). Membership in IHG® Rewards Club is free! Points can be redeemed at any time for a variety of rewards, including free hotel stays starting at just 10,000 points, airline miles, name-brand merchandise and more. Book now to take advantage of this special offer!

Otherwise you booked the wrong rate type. This type of rate also comes in a 1000 point version.

  7. Q. I registered for this promotion before 10/20/2014 and my tasks changed! (E.g., "book a stay with the app" became "book 9 stays with the app").
    A. See this post from IHG's FlyerTalk representative.

  8. Q. Does a Holiday Inn Express stay count as a Holiday Inn stay?
    A. No

  9. Q. What are the conditions for the free nights being awarded?
    A. Free nights must be redeemed by December 31st, 2015 and must be claimed by January 31st, 2015 or members will automatically be awarded applicable points. Free Nights can only be used in participating IHG hotels and may not be transferred. A Free Night is valid only for one standard room night rate and applicable taxes (not including breakfast). Redemption is subject to availability of the rooms of hotels specially provided for this promotion. The hotel rooms hotels specially provided for this promotion shall be determined at IHG’s discretion.

  10. Q.I chose the 2 free nights award, how do I book them?
    A. Go to your My Account page on ihg.com (after logging in). On the left hand masthead you will see an option labeled "Free Night Status". The page will show how many free nights you have available and provides a way to book the nights. Note that it's a bit clumsy -- an initial search will show that the lowest price is Free, but until you click thru you won't know if it's really available for your preferred nights.

  11. Q. Can I trade the free nights?
    A. Not on FlyerTalk. They are specifically designated non-transferable.

Post #2585 has a link to the Dashboard. You can "Claim" free nights there.

Please update the FAQ as seems expedient.

It's spectacularly unclear. I *hate* IHG T&Cs. It's almost as if they didn't bother to write them.

I have a requirement of doing 5 IC stays. I have one that I booked months ago where the rate has doubled since (but that falls into the window). I'm definitely not rebooking it - but I will fight tooth and nail to have it count as one of the stays.

You can also click the "view offer activity detail" link under the dates and it shows the Registration date.
I registered on the 4th, yet my "view offer activity detail" shows a start date of Sept 11th. I had a stay on the 4th, so not happy about that.

Travel 2 time(s) internationally

I am residing in Vienna, Austria. I am planning to be in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Can I just stay in 2 brands within Netherlands and will this count 2x internationally? Or Do I need to make a side trip to Germany or Belgium as well to make it really 2x international?

Thank you!

I'd be interested to know what you hear. I have a registration date of 9/4 and a stay of 9/6. There was another offer I qualified for during that stay and those points posted already.

Bonus Points

I'm not sure how you get them for other areas. Loyalty Lobby normally posts them when they are released, there may be a link on the promo pages there.

My husband's offer just changed and now we have this stinker of the bonus points with breakfast package. No international travel, so we need to find it in the US. I did read the entire thread but this just changed. I also used the search but wasn't finding this answer. Can someone if they know just post the answer or the number of the thread with the answer? Thanks!!!

I have searched several hotels in areas we were planning to travel to and haven't found this rate. Ugh.

I read someone's comment on dealswelike blog that he was told by IHG advance purchase rates will NOT count as qualifying nights toward meeting the Into the Nights promo. Has anybody else heard anything about this? Someone earlier in this thread said he had to fight for advance purchase rates to count toward the Big Win last time. I've already booked a HI as a mattress run under advance purchase rate for 2 weeks from now, and if this doesn't count, I'll be very upset. I actually have to stay at another HI (legit) next month that I haven't booked yet. Now I'm wondering if I should pay more for the best flexible rate. I called IHG myself and the rep told me that AP rates will count, but the fact that someone else was told otherwise makes me nervous, given IHG's history of inconsistency.

I have just completed a stay under "Advance Purchase" rates and will see if it turns up in my account. For the last Big Win campaign, my stays under "Advance Purchase" rates were included in meeting the tasks requirements.

If you search on IHG.com for the city you are looking for when the hotels pop up on the screen there is the 'Check rates' button to the right of the hotel. Just above that if the hotel is participating it will say "Points and Breakfast"

Points & Breakfast

The link above (if I've done it correctly) will show you availability for a Saturday night later in the month in LA. If you look at the IC LA Century City you will see the little points and breakfast message just above the check rates button.

Warning for those who opened IHG accounts to take advantage of Into The Nights: IHG is closing accounts, and taking away points, from those who register for promotions they were not targeted for.

See here: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea....-bonus-offers/
Based on some of the comments in that blog, it appears Into the Nights is a targeted promo.

And this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inter...&utm_campaign=

Into the nights is not targeted. It's on the main banner of ihg.com whether you're logged in or not

That's what I did for my wife. I already booked an advance purchase non-refundable stay. Should I just hope they miss her account in their audits, or should I email IHG like one commenter did, in an attempt to save the account?

Why do you say this? One commenter on a blog said that he was worried his account would be closed because he added a couple promo codes, so he emailed IHG and asked to have the codes removed so his account wouldn't be closed. They told him they couldn't, but would keep his account open, and for him to not do it again. I wouldn't mind that outcome at this point.
