You can see the various room types at the hotels on their respective web sites.

http://www.palazzo.com/accommodations.aspx

http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Accommodations/

From what we see you can't book many room types on IC.com.

While YMMV you might be able to book what you want on the hotel web sites and ask them to add your RA#. For example if you want access to the prestige lounge its not offered on IC.com so the only way looks to be to do it though the hotel web sites. Maybe you could reserve on IC.com and then call the hotel and pay for prestige lounge access. From initial dialogs the lounge access is not granted as part of RA upgrades.

Further, these benefits will be honored even when booking the reservation direct at the hotel. Also, at this time, our system is unable to retreive reservations booked at these two properties. Nonetheless, we would be happy to inform the hotel regarding your Ambassador status, you may contact us and provide us your reservation number.

Has anyone stayed here using points yet? Would be interested to see if RA benefits are honoured during points stay here.

Comparison Venetian-Palazzo:

So, well now I stayed one night at Palazzo and one night at The Venetian. So far, I really preferred the modern Palazzo. Even though – after asking politely – I got upgraded from Bella Suite without view to Rialto with view, the views at Venetian are not as nice as from Palazzo, especially due to a building site in front of the Venetians “Strip view”.
Palazzo had much nicer view and - as said before - I really liked the feeling in the "smallest" luxury suites.
Minibar is great as well in both hotels! Check-In process at Venetian took us around 30 Minutes in the Vip-lounge area…so we missed our included lunch (FHR-Rate)…Venetian was not able to organize a substitute… Nice fruit bowl and water were delivered promptly in both properties.
At The Venetian – even though there was a great sign in front saying “Royal Ambassador” – the front desk personnel didn’t really know about the benefits. Free minibar had to be escalated and was granted via phone another 30 minutes after check-in.
Big advantage for Venetian: if you want to accommodate 4 people in one suite, then this can only be done in one of the rialto suites (2 queen beds + sofa bed + rollaway bed).

I personally hope not. You won't either manage to make the Amassador Desk contacting them nor will you have an Ambassador card to show.

Why "hope not"? If direct bookings on casino rates qualify then you'll have more upgrade competition from casino invites than from PL.

And why wouldn't one be able to show AMB card at checkin to claim bennies and add PC number?

"One" might be able, the poster I replied to obviously not because this poster does not hold an Ambassador card. I do never care about upgrade competition, in particular when the upgrade is guaranteed as it is in the Ambassador program. I do however care about people sneaking in through the back door. Ambassador status can easily be bought, no reason to tolerate the back door detour.

It is - this as a side remark - not clear to me whether Casino rates do qualify. Rates booked on the HOTELS' website do qualify - this appears to be a difference.

This is part of the old YMMV theme about upgrades/benefits for Ambassadors/RA when using non-qualifying rates. I'm assuming casino/PL rates are not publicly available and therefore will post to IGH as non-qualifying stays.

I agree in general but here the story is different as they have two separate reservations systems i don't how see ineligible stays will be differentiated - they are processed by in house system not PC one.
IME both at PH and Hilton I was able to get stay credits on supposedly ineligible rates booked directly with the property.
With a variety casino promo rates bookable on their own website i simply can't imagine trying to separate eligible from ineligible for PC purpose.

Talking Had a great time at palazzo!

OK, so as promised I'm here to report in on what was one of the best trips to Vegas I've had in years. First off, I'm a Royal Ambassador and I booked three days using points (120,000 of them!). And it was worth every point. I booked a 2 queen bed room weeks ago, and upon arrival got a great (Strip) view 2 queen bed room so that had to be some kind of upgrade. It was a big family reunion and since most my family was at the now-grim Luxor hotel, they came to the Palazzo to dine and gamble every day.

Check in at the VIP lounge was effortless, and yes they offer you cocktails if you want, they just have to go get / make them. The staff in the lounge couldn't have been nicer, and was quite able to answer all my Ambassador-related questions. The lounge was nicely appointed and had finger sandwiches, cheese and fruit selection, juice, and cookies throughout the day. I found myself swinging by every day just to get away from the casino. Most times I was the only patron in there, to about two to three staff.

The signage at check-in is big and obvious -- Priority Elite check-in area, and a big sign now by the VIP lounge door saying "Royal Ambassadors." This VIP lounge is immediately to the right of the main check-in area and has an exit / entrance through the high limit slot machine room on the casino side.

As mentioned in other posts, the room's mini-bar is remarkable! Half-bottles of Moet champagne and Belvedere vodka, and a great selection of minis, waters, and non-alcoholic drinks. And yes, even on a points stay, they honored the free mini-bar priviledge (thank god!). So I was able to secure free cocktails in the room, in the casino when gambling, and in the lounge.

I went ahead and joined their frequent gambler club, "Club Grazie," and they noted that hotel charges go towards that point system as well. I wouldn't worry about making sure they have your status on a reservation, as they seemed quite willing to make a note of it everywhere. That is, I feel confident that I could have booked through the hotel site, the IHG site, and probably even an outside site (like Orbitz), and they would have just slapped my Priority number onto the reservation.

The Palazzo facilities are great - nice gym (and they remind you that you can walk 2 minutes to the even nicer Venetian gym). If you want access to the spa extras (saunas, steam rooms, showers, etc.) of the incredible Canyon Ranch Spa that the two resorts share, then it's an extra 20 dollars. I paid the extra 20 for each of two days in a row and luxuriated in all their relaxing areas.

Both pools are nice, though the Palazzo's is a cut above. You can easily walk from one pool area to the other. Go early to lay a claim on your poool chair as it fills up quickly there. Even walked through the Palazzo's expensive, hip, private pool area - think nightclub where everybody is young, gorgeous and loud - I felt like a fish out of water at the ripe old age of 47, and left quickly. While the pool manager of the private pool noted I could have stayed had I wanted to, they generally get $100 for a single chaise lounge for the day there! The free pool was beautiful enough, with great towel service, staff going around for drink & food orders, and even came around offereing free orange slices one afternoon.

If shopping is your thing then you're in luck. The Palazzo has it's own super high-end mall. And the Venetian, has it's own nice gondola / canal mall. Right across the street is the Wynn with their fancy mall. And diagonally across the street is the huge Las Vegas mall. This resort is walking distance to all that you could want to see on a weekend in Vegas.

At the Palazzo (and Venetian) you can find penny slots, dollar slots, and slots that take a minimun of $50.00 for a pull. The Palazzo casino wasn't too smokey nor too crowded. Played craps standing next to Andrei Kirilenko who had the best luck!

Hosted a party of about 15 at Del Lago restaurant at the Palazzo which was nice, and hope to do more in-room dining the next time I'm there. Yes I'm going back, and hopefully soon. This IHG / Palazzo partnership is a dream come true for a Los Angelino like me who enjoys getting to Vegas a couple times a year.

Wink No resort fee on points stay

No, I didn't have to pay the resort fee for my recent trip.

Oddly I phoned down to the desk on my second day there to ask what the payment was for internet use. They said not to worry as it was included in my resort fee which, they said on the phone at that time, I was going to have to pay on check-out. But on check-out I only had some charges from the Canyon Ranch Spa and some restaurant food, no resort fee.

They had also charged me for a movie I saw in the room, but they politely removed the charge when asked.

I will be certain once I get my credit card bill, as IC's have tacked on charges after the fact (like mini-bar charges) which they've usually been good about removing.

Curious what points have posted for anyone who has stayed since 1 April - seems like they should post like an IC stay (so 4000 points for an RA plus any bonuses), but do the nights also show up as qualifying towards the Ambassador Accellerator 20k per 15 nights?

Also noticed that having a booking at the Palazzo has broken mobile.priorityclub.com - as soon as the stay had been booked, I got an error when trying to view forthcoming reservations. I've just cancelled the stay and it's working again. Someone needs to do a bit of coding to recognise the new "brand" I suspect...
