The only property I know of in the Toronto area that offers something similar is the Holiday Inn Toronto-Brampton Conference Centre. They offer 5,000 points a night. The offer maxes out at 20,000 points (a 4 night stay). You need to click on view hotel packages for those rates to come up.
I'm envious of those fantastic bonus point offers at IHG properties in Chicago! I wish Toronto area properties (or other properties in Canada) had something similar.

I have to believe that the properties that are in larger metro areas would see the greatest benefit if they created a 10K or 12K bonus package. I would certainly direct my stays there (and have already).
Maybe a pre-printed card that we drop off letting hotel owners know of the benefits of upping the rewards and a slightly higher price. Since I could care less where I stay for business, the HIE or HI that I stay in (with high point pkgs) will usually be cheaper for my company than the comparable competitive property....or at least within the range of justification.
Any thoughts on this?

Check your account if you book the 10K package at the HI Frisco in TX. The bonus points NEVER seem to post unless you get Priority Club involved.

Yes both Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Lax offer 10K bonus points per stay.
Holiday Inn even throw in two free breakfast buffets but more expensive than HIX.
Do a hotel hopping between the two you will become Platinum in 6 nights.

It seems to be a common symptom of most of these over 5K packages. From what I gather the packages up to 5K are 'in the system' - something that is automatically set up as part of the rate. These larger packages require manual posting. Frisco seemed like it was reluctance on the manager's part to honor the deal. At 2 others it seemed to be about some sort of gap in the process.

Has the HI LAX ever been remodeled? The last time I was there 2 years ago it was in really bad shape.

I stayed in one refurbished room I think it is in par with other new HI and maybe better than Crowne Plaza LAX. I will not be afraid to stay there.
