Just to see what happened, I sent a message on Chase.com to Credit Card Support:
I had recently signed up for the Priority Club Rewards VISA for the 30k points offer. Right after signing up, I was offered the 80k point sign up. Is there anyway to change/upgrade my account to the 80k point sign up?
? 80,000 bonus points after your first purchase1
? A Free Night certificate every year good at over
4,400 hotels, worldwide2
? No foreign transaction fees when you travel abroad3
? Automatic 10percent rebate on all point redemptions up to
100,000 points back each year4
? 5 points per $1 spent at our hotels5
? 2 points per $1 spent on eligible gas, grocery
and dining purchases5
? No annual fee the first year ? a $49 value3
Hours later, I received the message:
Dear XXXXX,
I appreciate you taking the time to write Chase regarding
the Priority Club credit card account.
I have issued an additional 50,000 enrollment points
giving you a total of 80,000 enrollment points.
It was my pleasure to assist you today and appreciate your
continued use of the Priority Club account. If you have
any questions feel free to call the toll-free number on
the back of your credit card.
Thank you,
No hassle. That wasn't so hard.

Does your offer list an expiration/apply by date? If you've only applied for 1 Chase card in the last 12 months you'll 'probably' be OK. If 2, you may not get it. It's hard to figure out Chase's algorithm. How many Chase cards have you applied for in the last 12 months.

Chase Visa
I thought it would be OK if you wait 6 months between applications???
I'm waiting until after the 1st of the Year to 'Crack the Case' for 60K and get Platinum to 2013 - I hope I'm not denied since I got the Chase CO. Visa 6 months ago!
I also e-mailed and asked for the 80K offer - I wasn't targeted but doesn't hurt to try?

In my experience, it's rare to find another card that pays you back more than you pay for renewing every year (even if you hardly use it during the year)!

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 9700: BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.979 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
My hsbc cards Have no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees. Free night wise - its not bad but I don't really want another long term credit card.

If you have the 60K offer, I were you I would hold out given there is now an 80K offer.
Let us know what Chase replies to your request.

Ie, I'm curious, why keep the HSBC card instead of keeping the Priority Club card, if you have an interest in Priority Club points?

Should I still register one of the codes, or are they only valid for non-Platinums? I guess it can't hurt to sign up, but has anyone received the bonus for hitting the 60k mark "in that year for next year" while already a Plat "during" that year? Just not sure how that one works since 2011 will be the first full year I'll be Plat with PC. Thanks!
