If you read this thread there is a chance, but of course no guarantees. It's best to assume you won't get an upgrade and then maybe have a pleasant surprise upon check in. I've never seen a classic room here, but I am sure you have the bare minimum of a nice bed and bathroom, even if there is little room for anything else.

Confirmed that it no longer includes snacks.
the letter states mini bar beverages.
So for anyone returning who got snacks it no longer includes.

When we stayed here in May we asked for a recommendation and they suggested a few restaurants at the bottom of a set of stairs (not the Spanish Steps but just to the left there is another set of steps, follow those down). There were a few restaurants there, one right on the corner, it was very affordable given the fact you are in the centre of Rome and the food was good. Sorry that I don't know the name.

There is a cheap deli nearby that is good for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Turn left out of the hotel, go to the end of the block and turn left again and walk up maybe 50 feet.

Rome is kind of a maze. I wish I knew the places I ate, there was one right down Via Sistina I think that I ate at. One down the steps as well, across from the busy street, and down what I would call an alley.

Thx

We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel during our stay but I remember it was somewhere in the 35 Euro range per person. So we passed on that one. Can't answer your other questions.

I am amazed that they don't offer free internet to IHG Elite guests...
