Apparently they don't upgrade on reward nights...that's what some of the posts say here

Does a $20 (or 20 euro in this case) work?

It might or it might not. What do you expect him to answer.

Probably no one on this board would have tried this "trick" for fear of being laughed out of the hotel -- IHG's signature property in Rome.

So, what do you think is the answer to your foolish question. This is not Las Vegas, you know.

+1 We combined award nights and the 2for1 and emailed the hotel beforehand - received an "upgraded" room for all 4 nights. They don't want to move people as that would require more work by the surly front desk staff.

Not entirely accurate, as I reported above. They definitely upgrade for 2-for-1, and don't downgrade you for any award nights on the same trip (even when on separate confirm records).

However the incompetent staff does seem to have problems coding everything correctly, so we have to email IC to get IC points for the paid nights, and a 10% points rebate (Chase) for award nights. YMMV.

That's definitely the 7th floor. And it should be either room 727 or 728. Not sure if they are junior suites or 1 bedroom suites.

I e-mailed this hotel and asked them this;

"Hello,

I am inquiring as to the cost per item for laundry service and if there were any discounts for multiple items?

Thank you for your time,
yada-yadaname"

This was their response;

"Good Morning,

our laundry service is on payment and there is no discount for multiple items.

Thank you for contacting us

Best regards

Reception"

I e-mailed the back 6 days ago now, asking;

"Good morning,

Do you know the cost per item by chance? Like is it 8 euros for a shirt to be cleaned?

Thanks"

No response. So does anyone know how much it costs to get a shirt cleaned here? LOL

Has anyone stayed here recently as a Platinum? I'll be staying here in two weeks. I don't care much for a room upgrade but would like lounge access instead (if there is one at this hotel).

There is no lounge, but you should really look into buying Ambassador status. If you booked the cheapest room, you will really want an upgrade.
