Very expensive,

600 euros per night,

No reward nights available yet either.

Any idea when these will be available and for how many points per night?

I stayed at The Residence 5 years back.
Paid Ł350 per night back then on a special offer.

Awesome hotel.

But being RA IC wins hands down always.

Based on my 2 stays on Mauritius I wouldn't hold my breath as they are they are not cheap hotels anywhere. Having said that it is a stunning place to visit .

On the plus side, it makes it a good location to burn some points at least with prices like that. ^

Not too many room categories:
1 KING BED DELUXE OCEAN VIEW NONSMOKING
1 KNG BD DLX TERRACE OCEAN VIEW NONSMOKE
2 BDRM FAMILY SUITE OCEAN VIEW NONSMOKE
DUPLEX SUITE OCEAN VIEW NONSMOKING

Maybe we can get a few good RA upgrades before they introduce other ridiculous room categories...

IC Mauritius award stay 30000 points

30.000 points is not bad, considering that rack rate starts from 600€.

I had a look yesterday and 30,000 points is very good value.

Does anybody know what the weather is like in late Jan and February?

Opening has been deferred. Hotel no longer available in December (and my booking changed from confirmed to pending). Fortunately I noticed the change in status early enough that I've been able to find somewhere else. I was sweating for a while though as hotel after hotel I checked came back as sold out.

Hotel opens on 18 December

I received an email today (19 October) from an employee at the IC Mauritius who said the the hotel is opening on 18 December. I didn't ask him whether this was a "soft" opening.

Regards MTM
