It was a large room facing the harbour, at a low level (close to the wood deck), with seating area.
There was a jacuzzi tub in the (large) marble bathroom but the only thing I could see was the dressing room next to the bathroom.
I have just looked at the hotel's rooms description and pictures: it was an executive suite.
I initially booked a deluxe harbour view room and paid for club access.

very pleased with stay
Had a one night stay here with the family, using the Chase free night certificate. Were very well looked after. Only PC Plat, but received one category UG (no view), to a very large, well appointed room -- comparable to jnr suites in some hotels, as well as complimentary roll-away bed (not sure why fee was waived but I didn't question it!). Great pool area, with fantastic pool-side service.
The lobby lounge at night is really something magical, although the prices are shocking. Also had a fantastic lunch at Yan Toh Heen.

Have to say, this was best UG at IHG in last couple of years, notwithstanding it was my first redemption, and all the others were paid stays. It was all the more surprising since I'd heard this hotel was stingy with UGs for Amb/RA, but they kept thanking me 'for my loyalty'...
All in all a great stay. Problem is: want to go again now!

Construction has no impact on the hotel right now, probably not even at the pool. If you absolutely do not want to face the construction site, request a room with "plaza" view (i.e. towards Nathan Rd/Sheraton area).
You can upgrade for cash to a room with a view.
The hotel has been renovated about 5 to 10 years ago and is pretty much up to date and in very good condition.

I got quoted HK$1,200 per night (+10%) for an upgrade from award night to harbour view. Did not do it though, I preferred to spend the money on one of their good restaurants!

Prior to my arrival they sent me an e-mail to confirm that they have upgraded me to the Deluxe Harbour view for the first night as an Ambassador and provided me an option to upgrade the 2nd night from the Superior Plaza view room.
'' In order to meet your expectation, may we propose our Deluxe Harbour view supplement HKD1100nett (hkd1000+10% based on our Best flexible rate for accommodation only) as to stay in the same room''
I declined the offer and said I would be happy to move if required. They were very keen to get us moved out of the Harbour view room as soon as possible the next morning... but otherwise the services were impeccable in this hotel.

in that case I would have insisted on the 4pm late check out for Ambassadors. Find their behaviour quite ridiculous. But its by the book.

As I found it tiny bit annoying that they told me when I checked in that we could stay in the Harbour view room until afternoon, but we went out and came back at 11 am and got a call politely to remind us that we need to change room. However, we did not want to rush back to move room later on, so we decided we might as well move to the other room in the morning.

I spent two nights recently at the hotel and found it really excellent.
The one bedroom suite with harbour view was very comfortable and well furnished (although a clock in the living room would be good)
The Ambassador fruit bowl was a little lacking - 4 items IIRC, but the pen gift appeared high quality and better than many IC Ambassador gifts.
The Club lounge had a wide range of food at breakfast and evening (6-8pm) and the free drinks included Perrier-Jouet champagne, which can be purchased for cHKD980 outside of the above time. The staff served the drinks and were attentive about topping up.
Staff service was uniformally excellent. ^
With 100+ nights in a hotel this year, the IC Hong Kong was at or every near the top in terms of hard and soft product for me this year.
I will return.

I'm looking at staying at this hotel in a couple of months. Can you book a Harbor View Room or a Suite using PC points? Or, will they just give you the standard room?
Sorry, if this has been asked here or elsewhere, but this is my first time posting in the IC forum and have spent about an hour searching for the info (but obviously didn't find, thus my post).
