Thank you for the helpful response. However I would like to point out
- There are no other Club IC rates for any other room types available at IHG.com for my dates
- The upgrade is to a Deluxe Room which is the second lowest cat, Club IC room I booked was the 5th lowest followed by a Junior Suite

You booked a club superior room, and are now expected to receive a club deluxe room.

Very transparant imo. What did you expect?

You can book a deluxe room with club supplement (about 1500 HKD), and expect an upgrade to harbor view.

A bit optimistic to expect to suite straight away.

I would have expected some monetary value of the Ambassador upgrade. As I explained above I could have booked the standard Deluxe and gotten upgraded to Harbour view and purchase club access separately and still save about 300HKD/night what I'm currently paying. So what I did not expect was to get negative monetary value of my Ambassador upgrade.

Why not change it, then? What am I missing?

I like the hostility. Advance purchase rates are not easily changable or refundable.

Today I logged in to my account to check my upcoming reservation and an E-Upgrade offer has appeared which I have not noticed for this current booking before, When I made my original booking within a day or two it had the 2 cat upgrade applied as I'm a RA, So to my surprise when I clicked on the E-Upgrade the offer was for double occupancy Club access for HKD1380!! which makes no sense as club is an RA benefit??

It's my first time at this property so I hope this is just a blip that is perhaps applied to all bookings before arrival.

This sounds like an automated email which does not take your status in account. They still upgrade RAs to club + 2 categories. At least they did 2 days ago.

What is a "Club Superior" in Hong Kong?? To my recollection, they sell you a "Superior with Club Access", but they do not have dedicated Club rooms or Club floors

For award night reservation (using certificate) is there a charge on 3rd person? Does it depend on rollaway bed request or not?

I see they charge 800 for 3rd person on cash rates but it's not displayed on points, any experience?

IHG award nights under t+c's are for double room and 2ppn occupancy.

A 3rd/4th ppn is chargable assuming booked award night (or same for paid) room is not limited by size to only 2ppn maximum in which case a booking of such does not carry text about 3rd/4th person extra charges

I have one night stop-over in Hong Kong and was planning on to use my annual free night cert. Last time I was there they had construction going on, but it didnt affect us. I have read and also heard from my friend who was there last year that the construction has increased. Anyone know how it is now?? Basically want to know how the construciton is affecting the the pools especially the infinity pool. Is the boardwalk/avenue of the stars fully open? Thanks

Hi,

The Avenue of the Stars is still closed and the statues have been moved to the Garden of the Stars on the other side of Sailsbury Road.
There is also construction going on by the museum of art close to the IC.
I was at the Sheraton at the end of april and often there was a large crane/barge in the harbour in front of the IC

Regards

TBS

Thank you so much! I'm hoping those cranes don't obstruct the view from the pool area!

I am redeeming some rewards night in this hotel.

I was wondering if they provide free breakfast for rewards night...
