Thanks for your inputs in advance.
You are very limited for booking Suites at IC-HK as RA if looking for separate living+bed rooms AND free RA upgrade. Only one option is book Exec Suite to get Ambasador/RA upgrade to Deluxe Suite.

++Free Limo Change for the better
Rates for Deluxe J/S and above include Roundtrip Airport Limo Transfer (previously was for Deluxe Suite and above)

1. Deluxe Junior Suite is a single non-partitioned 45-50m room
Upgrade is to Executive Suite
2. Executive Suite is a single non-partitioned 70m room
Upgrade is to Deluxe Suite
3. Deluxe Suite is 2-room 100m suite with separate living+dining room.
Upgrade is n/a. IC-HK do NOT upgrade as higher room types Terrace Suite etc are excluded from upgrades

Higher room categories at ICHK are..............................

Deluxe Junior Suite
Executive Suite
* Superior Suite (same rate as Exec Suite)
Deluxe Suite
then by direct purchase only (nominal rates per night)
Terrace Suite hk$40,000
CEO Suite hk$52,000
Presidential Suite (1 Bedroom) hk$98,000
Presidential Suite (3 Bedroom) hk$108,000
Presidential Suite (5 Bedroom) hk$118,000

The bedroom is partitioned off by door in the Superior suite. However you cannot count on that as an upgrade unless you are lucky.

I have an executive suite reserved for me, so besides the larger size than the deluxe junior suite, are there any other differences between the two?

Thanks for the interesting info. Very pricey.

I did read somewhere that the Presidential Suites were the best in HK but I can't recall if that was just the IC blowing their own trumpet.

Best in all of Asia actually. But that is subjective. I think they are objectively the largest in Asia though.

Probably overtaken by 3yr old Conrad Macao in size. Presidential Suite 250m and CEO Suite 350m . I settled for a 160m Premier Suite

Actually on floor 40 above 39th floor lounge is a 650m Suite given foc to casino high rollers.

Floor 39 only had Lounge in Feb2016, but hotel was adding 39th floor guest rooms at the time, which could include more large suites.

Those of you familiar with the hotel, what do you think of the following?

Looking for 3 nights in October/November.
I would like to book a Deluxe HV using a BOGOF for the first two nights ,and book the third night on points.
Reading through the thread a little, am I right to assume I'm likely to be able to get a decent upgrade offer from them in advance, to make sure the third night is booked into the same category, rather than have to move into a standard room on the last night?

Also, as a regular Ambassador, not RA (in fact both of us are...), am I likely to be upgraded from Deluxe HV to a HV Junior suite?

To be honest, the suite isn't as important to me as the third free night issue.

Also, when booking through the BOGOF page, there doesn't seem to be an offer to add breakfast to the rate as there is on the regular booking page (500HKD for two). are they likely to be able to add this after I make the booking?

As Ambassador a 1-cat upgrade from Deluxe HV should be to Deluxe Junior suite.

ICHK is very strict on award nights for Ambassadors (although generous to RAs right now), no upgrade given.
So to keep same upgraded Dlx J/S room ...expect to be offered upsell for 70% of the full flex room rate difference for the 3rd night (30% off) between Award Room and upgraded Dlx J/S which usually will not earn you points for upsell $$$ amount.

Yes, I get the missing b/f tickbox all the time as box is always missing from corporate rates. Annoying where the IC (or non-IC ie CP, HI) has no lounge or if lounge access does not allow option of restaurant b/f.

Sorry, hotels never offer that greatly reduced tickbox "Breakfast for 2" rate at checkin, as hotels view is b/f discount is only offered on full rate adr/flex bookings.
Some hotels (not sure about ICHK as I get Lounge here) will offer smaller b/f discount if you add non-cancelable b/f upsell at checkin (or in some cases night before b/f) but nothing like halfprice rate tickbox usually offers.

Keep in mind that the award night is the base-Superior Room. If they did UPG it it's one category to Deluxe Room. As RA, I recently had a 4 night stay, first night award, then 2 nts on BOGO which I booked as Harbor View, then another award night. The award nights were UPG'd in the system, before checkin, to Superior Jr. Suite and the 2 nts on BOGO to Deluxe Jr. Suite. Difference is the view with Deluxe being better, and I was given Room 1516 so those have the best views. I was quoted HK$900 to UPG from the Superior Jr to Deluxe Jr for the award nights, but that was waived, so I received the Deluxe Jr. Suite all 4 nts. Not sure that they would always be that generous, but I've stayed there a couple times before.

Don't muddy the picture.

ICHK generously upgrades your RA award nights, you get the same upgrade to Sup J/S plus lounge access, as if as RA you had had booked paid night in the same basic room.

BUT for Ambassador award nights ICHK does not upgrade ambassadors base level room. ICHK is very strict about that.

Thank you guys.

Sounds like I am likely to get an upgrade offer then for the reward night albeit at a cost.
I'll see what they offer me in advance, and then decide whether to change the award to a paid night instead.

Good to know that Deluxe HV should definitely be upgraded to a Deluxe Junior suite (availability allowing of course...).

Sorry, but I thought he could use the data point. Plus, I used the conditional, "if," to couch the issue of an AMB getting UPG'd on award nights, as, I've never stayed there as AMB.

Also, the UPG for AMB's from Deluxe HV would not be to Deluxe Jr. Suite-it's to Superior Jr. Suite, which is one category up. The price difference to go from Sup to Del JS was the HK$900 I mentioned.

Hope that clears things up.

Hi,

I'm looking at booking 2 Deluxe Harbour View Rooms between Dec 15 (Thursday) and Dec 19 (Monday). ICHK has confirmed that they will be upgraded to Deluxe Junior Suites (1 x Ambassador Club member staying in each room, in whose name the room will be booked). Of course, they have quoted the fully flexible rate for each night, whereas I don't see any point in booking at that rate except for the weekend BOGOF nights. The cheapest option would be to book Thursday and Sunday nights at the Advance rate (HK$2,175/2,196) and Friday and Saturday nights at the fully flexible rate (HK$3,750/3850). Am I right in the understanding that it is the second weekend night (in this case, Saturday) that is free using the Ambasssador Club weekend BOGOF certificate? Also, is there any chance that the ICHK will be difficult about making 3 separate bookings for each room for what is, essentially, a single stay in each? Are they likely to move us around during our stay?

Thanks in advance.

The Club Lounge has been quoted as approx AUD$250 a day. My travel agent said that she has experienced being offered a "deal" on check in. Has anyone been offered a price reduction for the Lounge at check in. I'm only a lowly Gold so it would be just the general run of the mill offer, rather than offering a RA it.
