There are several ICs that give both (in particular in China) however there are several that do it the other way too. HK has no Club Floor, so there is no routine link between a certain room and the club access.

Is there any reason why prices are sky high in Jan? With F&F a superior harbor view room comes in at 4,000+ HKD while in september you can get something for a little over half that.

"All-in-one" New Year celebrations next year: Western New Year - Chinese New Year (Jan 22- Feb 1) period.

Seems like we'll see a very busy travel season all over Asia (many people off work) in January.

Hong Kong is always very busy in January as it is the time leading up to the new year. However once the new year break starts, prices should drop as the hotel will be pretty empty.

I had my third stay this year and was upgraded again from a Superior Junior Suite to a Superior Full Suite (yes it exists, Room 1536) with a seperate bedroom and living room. Much nicer than the Executive Suite, however there is - as I have been told - only one of these in the entire property. Service was spotless.l

I'm staying on a free points stay in September. Has anyone had any experience with how paying the upgrade fee for a harbor view room posts as far as points.

Does it show up as a "stay" and qualify for the IC bonus which I believe is 5,000 points?

ROFL, but nice try.

A point stay is non qualifying and extras do not give you any points with IC, so bad luck.

I have booked a room at IC HK with F&F rate next month..seems like they don't honor Ambassador status (no upgrade they said)..

Has anyone experienced F&F Rate upgrade? Seems like few have been upgraded, but email reply I got back seemed to be pretty straight forward..

Hmmm...has anyone stayed there recently? How intrusive is the construction going on next door?

Noise, dust etc?

Plenty have stayed there recently. As long as you are not in a suite directly to the site, no problem at all. Ask for accomodation closer the the Star Ferry. No problem at all.

As per e-mail they told "no upograde for F&F", in real life it was a "normal" upgrade (I can't remember the exact descriptions, but booked a harbour view "basic" and got harbour view "huge" room)

Construction is a distraction

Stayed there past weekend. On Sunday, no construction. On Monday, it started around 8:50 am and was certainly somewhat distracting; thankfully wasn't spending much time in the room. Did use the pool/jacuzzi and you could certainly hear the jackhammering and pounding as the construction is adjacent.

Also as a result of the construction, there is no access from the hotel to the promenade along the river; you have to go out to the street and then buttonhook left near the Art Museum/Cultural Center. If you go right, you have quite a lengthy walk to get around the construction.

Stay was a point stay; did get an RA upgrade to a junior suite, but no Club access. Did get offered the minibar, Internet, movie, amenity, early/late checkout benefits.

Do go out on the promenade at 8pm for the sound/light show. From the hotel itself you just see the lights.
