IC Prague Master Thread [merged] - left IHG

How is the IC in Prague for Platinum Ambassadors?
The new PC point promotion may make me switch from my other intended brands in the next few months.
Which goes to show you we can be corrupted even if we know some of the other programs are doing better in terms of recognition in house
Thanks for the feedback

IC Prague stay

Just back from a 6 night stay, me and the President of Bulgaria.

Interesting points there:

I'd booked 3 nights award, 2 nights Junior Suite on the 2 for 1 offer and 1 night standard room on the final, Sunday, night. I presumed that I wouldn't be able to use the Weekend Night voucher on the Sunday as the 2 for 1 would exclude it. When we checked in, however, the chap on the desk said "I believe you still have a Weekend voucher, would you like to use it for the Sunday night?".

I thought, 289 Euros, might as well - Yes Please. I then asked about club access and was told no. I waved the email from the customer services in Prague that's in the Awards thread and which says 'no club for A only for RA' and he said "Fine" and we (2 adults and one 7 year old got club. Pretty useful email.

The hotel was packed with the International Bar Association meeting in Prague, and the President's security, and the club suffered a bit under the pressure but good, friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast and evening nibbles.

The minibar was replenished daily with soft drinks and every 2 days with booze, so it was an every other day miniature of Hine.

Molton Brown toiletries and a nice, replaced daily, fruit bowl and a goodish bottle of wine a s a welcome gift.

My only quibble about the room was size. It was on the 7th, Executive Club, floor and was supposed to be a Junior Suite, there wasn't much room when the rollaway was squeezed between the bed and the TV and, looking at the floor plan, the standard rooms on the floor might actually have been bigger, being rectangular where ours was more square. 739 if anyone knows the hotel. I'm never sure what constitutes a Junior Suite anyway, sometimes it seems to be a table the size of a stool and a folding chair.

Good, and good value, stay.

Points posted already, slightly odd

3 Qualifying nights

INTERCONTINENTAL PRAHA
PRAGUE,
CZECH REPUBLIC

Qualifying Stay 0 pts.
platinum bonus 0 pts.
q4 double points/miles '05 0 pts.
royal ambassador bonus 0 pts.
stay 9, get 10,000 points 10000 pts.
stay 11, get 10,000 points 10000 pts.

Is the 2 for 1 not a qualifying rate?

2for1 offer: points?

I wonder that you get the 10k bonuses, but nothing for the regular stay. When I booked the 2for1 offer at IC Berchtesgaden they credit me nothing, even not room nights. I also know that many other hotels act the same (no point/room night credit for 2for1 offer).

Could you please provide a link to the email letter you mentioned?

Exactly the question I'm asking after a stay in Lisbon:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=476335

The hotel says a definite NO. Priority Club HQ lady says YES. So stand by for the mother of all battles

My stay nights were posted as NOT qualifying and NO points. I guess your 10K bonus nights were triggered by the qualifying nights before your 2for1-ers?

Would the CP Prague be a second "good" option? I've been trying to get two rooms at the IC for October 8th to the 12th, but no luck. Anyone stayed at the CP? Recommendations for other hotels in Prague?

I've stayed at the CP Prague. Booked a std room and received a Exec room. Very clean and tidy, but the staff not so helpful.

In addition it's a little way out of the centre, but they do have a couple of dedicated taxi drivers whom you can call on 24hrs a day for pick ups and drop off's in the local area (for a charge), incl the airport.

I know, I'm being dense Weekend voucher nights have shown up as qualifyng for me, and I've no idea how they treat award nights: never taken one. So which of the nights do you reckon triggered the two 10K bonuses ?

I can only assume Fri & Sat, as two half-price nights?
