Just got back from IC Prague last night - and very surprised as was best upgrade yet - from a superior room, supposedly superior just because of the view I think, to a full fledged suite with dining room, 2 bathrooms etc. Gave me club lounge access for the breakfast as well, since I was checking out that day. Free wine, fruit & small box of chocolates too. Didn't take advantage of the free movie, as the TV asked me to approve about a 600 kroner charge for all the movies, this always happens and makes me nervous as I think I'd have to prove to reception I' donly watched one film, not the whole day's worth your meant to buy.

Well worth the 202eur+tax paid all in all - hopefully these upgrades are gradually getting better as the new Ambassador program is getting through to all the hotels, and the fact that you used to get automatic Plat. Status with the 6CC, but now you only get Gold (I got Plat. free when joined last December, but will hit 60k Points next month).

I Am staying here at the moment I booked a superior room also and have been upgraded to a suite too, rooms are ok very business class accomodation though it is kept very very clean mini bar prices are acceptable too, around 150 kroner for a bottle of stella and 100 kroner for a bottle of coke or evian water.

Staff seem a little unhelpful and uninterested at reception when asking for advice but the hotel is fully booked so they could be that extra bit busy änd the in room pay tv is pretty poor also 4 PPV channels 1 in German 1 in English and 2 hard core porn channels make up the ppv but there is a good selection of regular tv channels around 40 i would guess, inc CNN SKy News and CNBC and Bloomberg.

Avoid drinking at the Hotel bar though as it is very expensive around 280 for a basic cocktail and beer is not much cheaper, the hotel is what I expected business class with some nice touches, and even got my Ambassador gifts this time too so that was a Bonus, all in all its a pretty nice place very close to the square which is a 5 min walk away, most of the restaurants in the old town square have a covered area with gas heaters providing heat this is nice touch as you can have a beer outside with great views of the square and feel warming doing it considering its a 4c outside at 9pm.

So on the whole I would not hesitate in recommending IC Prague its verÿ good value, One of the couples we were talking to said they were paying over 110E a night at another hotel and had not even had there room cleaned since they arrived 4 days ago and had stale bread and ham for breakfast so for an extra few E its well worth it.

Updates--Platinum/AMB Status

It is concerning that the hotel downgrades people, or otherwise is not honroing these benefits. Any more recent reports? Any email address for the hotel? Also a friend that lives in PRG said the hotel was "near the river" and not near too many things or the downtown or the metro?

I thought the hotel location was great 5 mins walk down a beautiful street to the old square lots of nice places to eat on that street too, I was not downgraded and have to say it was a brilliant stay no problems what so ever and the hotel stay were very warm and friendly, but my partner said the conceirge was a bit blunt and not to helpfull, but the hotel was full as they were having a New Zealand state/VIP visit or something. So the conceirge could of been rushed off her feet.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at IC Prague. We booked at 164 Euro Govt Rate and arrived around 1100 hours. Our room was not ready and there was no mention about an alternate (per RA benefits). We were given Club IC access with options to take breakfast at the restaurant. If given this option, I'd always recommend the restaurant, as it has a much wider selection.

The room was finally ready around noon, and we were given an Executive Room, not a suite. The bathroom was a disappointment, as the shower regulator was unpredictable - bursts of alternating hot and cold water. We complained and were given minimal sympathy. I did ask about a suite upgrade and was grudgingly offered the option on the following day. We decided to avoid repacking and stayed put. I mentioned it on checkout and had no reason to believe they would make the necessary repairs on the shower - just a feeling.

All in all, this hotel gets an average score compared to other IC properties I've stayed in. The downstairs staff was curt and not overly friendly. The Club IC staff was nice and helpful.

If you've got the bucks and want luxury, the Four Seasons can't be beat. Otherwise, IC Prague will do just fine.

Well I have booked 4 days here at 169 Euros in June 30 to July 4th.
I can upgrade for 189 Euros and get free breakfast... there are two of us is it worth it?
Also I am RA I wonder if we will get a suite? PS for one of the nights I will use my weekend free cert.

thread from the past here - hey, Dino - were you the guy who was telling the club receptionist to remove the mini-bar drinks from his bill, and was saying ' well, I know it's free as I'm an RA - but I dont want them on my record anyways, as I didn't actually have them'?! I was watching this happen, all wide-eyed as I was just a lowly Ambassador, and curious how RA's got dealt with, and dealt with things - course the missus didn't take too kindly to my 'not right now!' replies to her attempts at conversation, whilst this was all happening!

I know it's not likely, but how many other RA's could there have been there that weekend?!

its not worth it for the upgrade, as you'll get one anyways (I'm not going to say to a suite, as that's never a guarantee, but I got a massive one when I was just an Ambassador last yr.) - jeez though, the breakfast one is a toughie - I can't remember if I got a free breakfast when I was there, or not.

edited to add -- whoops just read my own thread from last year about the breakfast - I did get a free breakfast, but only because I waltzed into the club lounge cheekily & enquired about it, & the woman said something along the lines of, 'well since its your last day here, ok'. Didn't make much sense, but being as she was a beautiful 20 yr old, I wasn't going to seek further clarification about the official hotel policy.

Well we were given a Suite upgrade but the suites only had king beds so we switched to a family room... Club floor was included in upgrade so we had free food in lounge.
THe hotel does not compare to Asian IC's, Its a bit of a dump in comparison... but the city was amazing, the hotel staff great, and we stayed 7 days! Paul in the lounge was adorable.

Is it worth pre-booking the 30E airport limo? Have never been to PRG and not sure if I want to deal with luggage on public transit at 7pm after traveling 18+ hours.

Given the foregoing reviews, I am wondering how the IC compares with other properties, as we could try pricelining a room at the Renaissance or Marriott for $85-100.

Any recent Ambassador experiences, good or bad? Should we expect an upgrade?
