Royal Ambassador Experience Thread 2021

This thread is about Members holding Royal Ambassador Status in the InterContinental Hotels and Resorts Loyalty Program. A template for the post is provided in this post. The thread also focuses on Six Senses and Regent Hotels.

How to post

1. Do not use the "Reply with Review Button" but the regular one

2. Put the name of the hotel in the title of the post and the thread

3. Use one the following format by extracting it, ie by using "reply quoting", copying the content into memory, then backing out of "reply quoting" and then pasting the copied content into a new post. Each line is formatted so that you can paste in between them having deleted these opening comments:

There are two different templates, one for InterContinental Hotels and Regent and one for Six Senses

The links to each reports in the posts above will cover all of 2020.

Maintenance Schedule
Links to reports between January 2019 and March 2019 will be deleted after April 01, 2021 --> Dec 31, 2021
Links to reports between Aprill 2019 and June 2019 will be deleted after July 01, 2021 --> Dec 31, 2021
Links to reports between July 2019 and September 2019 will be deleted after October 01, 2021 --> Dec 31, 2021

With this approach I hope to get a balance between the requests to have also older post in this thread and those requesting only to have newer up-to-date posts.

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Deluxe, received Executive Riverview Suite. I've stayed here a handful of times since June 2020 and have been receiving the Water Suite, which has been nice. I'll be back next week so we'll see what the next upgrade is.

How are the rooms?
Modern, with great views of the wharf and Potomac River. The only toiletries that have been available during COVID have been soap, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner but you can ask for anything and they will bring it up. They are providing bathrobes but not slippers.

How is the exec. lounge?
There isn't one.
The Royal Ambassador breakfast has been $50 per day for room service breakfast. It comes pretty fast after ordering. The restaurant has been closed or only open on weekends.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Lately, I've been receiving macarons and a bottle of wine (champagne one time!), but this last stay I just received the macarons and bottled water.

How was the minibar?
A few beers, Johnny Walker Black, Tito's vodka, gin, 375 ml bottles of red and white wine, sparkling water, mixers. During one of my stays over the past few months, they did charge me service charge and tax on minibar items (first time in a long time).

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Great staff although downsized
Room Service breakfast has been really good
Bottles of wine as a welcome amenity has also been appreciated!

Nothing, they are doing a great job during COVID

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes
