I wonder when will the Mr & Mrs Smith hotels become bookable. I'm going to Rio in Apr. and, given IHG doesn't have any property there, the Mr & Mrs Smith hotels are the only ones listed on the website.

I think there are a lot of us impatiently waiting for these to be bookable and not just show up. I really wish they would release some info on when we are going to be able to redeem points and book.

I got this answer:

All participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels will soon be bookable on IHG.com, for you to earn & redeem your IHG Rewards Club points as you do on the rest of the IHG portfolio. As bookings will be made through IHG, feel free to contact IHG directly for any further questions, or booking inquiries when the time comes.

I don’t know ... if a person can have 2-3 leisure trips per year, it remains the same. I can’t do the 4th one if I don’t have the holidays or I can’t afford it, just to burn some points. I simply book another hotel on my forecasted leisure trips ...or I keep the points.
